Watching this makes me realize how much 'Human' didn't really sound like Chuck's vocals. Brilliant album, THE one that really got me into it, but yeah the vocals are much lower on that one album.

man this band sucks!!! i don't understand why everyone is on it's dick so hard. this is just another example of why the 90's can be labelled as the musical dark age. This band sucks, nirvana sucks, alice in chains sucks. the only good band to come from the 90's was at the drive-in.
Thrice? At The Drive In from Dallas? and most the bands in that style or genre do not posess advanced skills on musical instruments on the level of Death and/or most extreme metal styles. ATDI play by a whole other set of rules and philosophy that makes any debate on comparing ATDI to Death irrational, deeming you as incompatent to speak on the topic. What you like are bands that offer up a totally different feel and attitude that people grow away from eventually. Doesn't hit people deep 2 stick
yeah same here....everyone at my school is ether, rap/hip-hop, goregrind or lamb of god/metallica :| and if i play a more faster riff....good example would be hammer smashed face - cannibal corpse, they say nooo thats to hardcore >:|
@zeth205 do what I do and just learn all the instruments and be a one man band until some members pop up, then you can simply fill in the empty spots.
@zeth205 Yeah im lucky to have a few friends who love the same music as me. Also that we can play this kind of music together. The only hard part is finding a screamer haha
why did his voice go so high i like deah but i liked it from scream bloody gore to symbolic dont egt me wrong the riffs of sound of pestilence album were great but the vocals were to black metal for me
that's complete BS. his voice was getting progressively higher throughout his career. I first really noticed on Symbolic, but by the time TSOP came out it was really noticeable. I like both styles equally. Also your "theory" is moot because TSOP came out in 98 and he wasn't diagnosed until 99. I remember exactly because I wrote tons of letters of support when it was announced. So stop spreading stupid rumors.
I mean, you're probably right, a higher voice may have caused pain (I don't sing, I can't tell), but he said he wanted to clear up Death's vocal's cause he was tired of guturals (that's why he created Control denied)
maybe he was agenst cocain, but you dont know him any better than what his lyrics were and what he said in interviews unless you knew him personally, so you cannot say you know.
yes he smake pot in a interview thay asked he about how he feels about drugs and he said that he only belives in natural stuff and that he some times smoked pot
@Whackooyzero Yeah I'm pretty sure he did smoke weed a bit but not a lot. It's fucking gay how someone who doesn't didn't do drugs, and was not known for drinking or anything dies of a brain tumor, it's just another legend taken away from us.

his low voice would resonate the the brain tumor causing him pain so when he went higher it did not hurt

sorry but exactly what do you want me to prove
catstudent1 2 years ago
Prove how a lower voice register can resonate to his tumor to cause pain.
KissMeImPunk 2 years ago
if anything, a higher voice would hurt a tumor more. Thats not just an ignorant statement; I do back up vocals and I am a musician myself.
FirstSnowJ 2 years ago
Back than, he didn't even knew about the tumor.
