any special mods needed to be done to ride on the sand? air filter vaseline, special tyre type, anything???

@meda789 I used a "Filter sock" (goes over your existing air filter & can be oil'ed up) keeps out all the fine sand & dust.

You can get semi paddle tire for the rear, Next time I go I'm changing my sprockets to give more top end. It's all about power in the soft stuff

should u let down ur tyres before riding on beach sand and if u do wat psi should u put them at

At the beach I run 2 tyre/rim lock's and about 5psi in the rear.

I used the thickest tube I could get as well.

It does depend on the tyre and ridding style as well tho.

Other bikes on this trip were running 10-15psi

should a xtm 250cc (chinese bike) cut through beach sand without a paddle tyre and what tyre pressure should ur bike be in general use like hard terrain

I have a yzf450 dirt bike and new to riding in thick sand and i just cant seem to pull it off... i try to stand up but when i do i twist the throttle more and its way to powerful n freaks me out.. any tips?

in boggy sand just keep it pinned its the eisiest way tracks straight through the rutts its wen u go slow its hard

grow a sack and pin it lol na squeeze the bike with your legs and dont be afraid to lay it over dude....

That's awesome. In the US a lot of hippies have shut down riding on beaches. The places I rode as a Kid I can't anymore

Funny you say that, same thing happened here. People trying to stop 4x4's and bikes on the sand dunes, you know killing all the grass and shrubs ect ect. until a local found a picture from like the 1940's when there was no grass or shrubs to be seen in miles!

Pismo is in the US - South Australia is just that South Australia a state of Australia - no where near Pismo - though I hear Pismo is beautiful - SA beaches are just AWESOME - from one who once lived in Australia but now lives in the US
