The Summer Goverment was a period from june to october 1936 where the political party "Bondeforbundet" was allowed to rule for the summer. Because they were allies of the current political party
Playing as USSR, I like attacking Germany in 1940 when they start moving into Belgium.....they are pretty easy to take out because most of their army is stationed in the West. And they get caught in an early two front war. It costs you some stability but in the end its worth it, better than waiting for them to hit you with their full strength soon after.
Yes, but then USA almos always attack you in your back! And usually you have nothing to counter it! It's like you'll take Germany's place in that moment.
True. The game has a glitch. When I attacked Germany in 1940, within 3 or 4 months I occupied all of Germany, Poland and Slovakia. But there were still German forces in Belgium and France. And I couldn't annex Germany because of this, so I had to keep on advancing into Belgium and French provinces. This caused the Western Allies to declare war on me (Britain, France and eventually USA). I thought that was stupid...I can't annex Germany when their whole country is occupied?
Well, the thing is when you annex country - all of their forces disbands. And how you can disband forces when they have a whole another occupied country to support them? And annexing country don't affect gameplay that much (appart from disbanding enemy forces). You just can place your newly produced divisions on German territories, and that's it.
@darthbandon10 There was no such an option until HoI3. You occupy province - it yours. You can affect some parameters by moving diplomacy sliders, but it's too slow and some countries cannot perform some politics.
@VadimCC Speaking of occupying, in my game I'm losing because the Soviet troops have crap organisation compared to others (eg UK, Germany)...the doctrines don't help much because those other countries research as well, and with that 20 point headstart it's near impossible to catch up.
@VadimCC When? It's August 41 and the German blitz is crushing the Soviet troops :p they're retreating without even taking losses because of the org problem..

@VadimCC Weren't there options to determine how you governed occupied provinces? Or is that for puppets only?

Don't warry. After couple of years there will be some Organisation-improving historical events, and after that soviet army is unstoppable.

@darthbandon10 It's too early. Your main goal yet is to hold on. It will be so much easier later on.

@onsholo The winter war with Finland didn't happen, so I couldn't use conscription until the Germans attacked.
