in canada you can buy those with no license or anything just walk in an buy. for non flintlock or an inline or percussion cap you need to license and register.
I have one more question for you. Can you shoot power belt ammo out of this rifle? Or are you restricted to only shooting conicals and round balls? I'm not trying to bug you, but I just have some question that I need answered. Thanks
@Tegulicious I actually dont know? I've never really heard of people using them and have never tried them myself. My buddy said he used to shoot them out of his Hawkens and they shot good but im not too sure lol.
Are you shooting lead balls or conicals? What kind of grouping are you getting with them? Are you using black powder or pellets? How many grains are you using? I'm thinking of getting one of these rifles, and whatever works for you I'll try first! Any information regarding this issue will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
@Tegulicious Round balls shoot alright , but i use lee R.E.A.L. Bullets. Im not too sure on the bullet grain , but ill get back to you on it. Also i use either 100 or 125 grains of loose powders, i use pellets for back up shots in the woods. Also, just try diffrent bullets and grains of powder and see what shoots best out of it, every gun likes diffrent stuff. Be sure to run a wet and dry swab patch through the barrel after every shot, makes it alot easier to clean at the end of the day.
haha... nice video, nice gun, and nice recoil!!... wanna see a gun with crazy recoil??... watch my video "Mosquete Casero (Homemade Musket)"... thats crazy you´ll see (i used a cilinder bullet and .... damn i really don´t know how many grains of BP... but half of the barrel was filled with it!!... :P it was mad and stupid shooting with that... but well i don´t repent (i´m still alive!!).. and i wont shoot with that Musket again... i´ll shoot with others.

do you need an FFL to purchase one of these?
tommywayneful 1 year ago
@tommywayneful No you do not, muzzleloaders are the easiest rifle to purchase , you can take home the day you buy it in most states.

Nice vid, thanks for sharing:) You hunt with it? Man that would be quite a feeling harvesting a deer with that!!
I think I might get me one in stainless.

It has a noticable delay from when the hammer hits and when the gun fires.
I have a thompson one like yours and it is the same.
we use 70 grains of BP and .49 caliber round ball

want some recoil? try 350grain to 370grain maxi balls with 140 grains! Mine with 350 grain maxi's and 120 grains ffg kicks like a mule.
And point of impact is close to my 245 grain bullet with 120 grain ffg load.
Manuel say the firestorm works with up to 3 pyrodex pellets but my attempts with pyrodex pellets stunk!
BTW my wife (former gun hater) Loves watching me shoot the thing

the recoil isnt that bad really with muzzleloaders, all the energy is going out the barrel.
