@ImmortalGodhead Epoxy a piece of wire (like a guitar string) to the heads of both bolts. It'll keep them together.

You can epoxy a wire from the heads of both bolts to the nut, but that makes screwing the thing together difficult, though.

that is seriously risky playing with those, when u are screwing the bolts together u are causing hell of friction + u are using AM, which is very sensitive to friction

The screwing part is very dangerous as the slightest friction will light the gunpowder. Do not make these bombs.

Be carefull, I made a bolt bomb with 20 caps and phosphorus. As i was screwing the two bolts together, it exploded in my face from the friction. I was then deaf for two weeks, and a small shard of metal got projected into my thumb!!! So yah, BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!

Well I scraped it off a magnesium strip I bought off of ebay, but you can find magnesium bars (aka firestarter bars) and many stores like walmart, sports authority, or bass pro shop

Most metal pencil sharpeners are made out of magnesium. if you scrape them with a stronger piece of metal you can make some.

If i'm not mistaken, I believe the only thing in those 8-shot ring caps is a mild form of black powder.

If you know the anatomy of a bullet, the force of the hammer hitting the percussion pin on the bullet is what combusts the charge of black powder inside.

it wouldn't matter, it wouldn't fire. At best you'd be lucky if the barrel was still in tact. The force of the combustion needs an escape, focus that to the size of, oh say, a percussion pin, and you have lift off

the stuff in the caps is nothing like gun powder, it usually is a dangerous mixture of red phosphorus and KClO3, sometime they use a fulminate of some sort witch is also extremely dangerous

Actually, there's a small ring of green shit on the back end of the smaller bullets that's sensitive to impact that ignites the gunpowder. On the bigger bullets, there's a small charge in the green thing's place. It's right where you see that silver bulb on the backs of the bigger ones. Anyway, all I'm saying is; it isn't just black powder, there's more to it; but that's all I know.

For centerfire cartridges (not .22 or .17), that silver thing in the center of the back of the round is called a primer.

I'm not sure what they're made out of. Cheap ones used to be fulminate of mercury, which was bad A) because it contained mercury and B) because it was corrosive as hell.

As for rimfire rounds (like .22 and .17), you have the material making up the primer inside the rim at the back of the cartridge. Again, I have no clue what it is.
