(She also sang the vocals for Marky Mark's "Good Vibrations", 1991.) The record label did a "Milli Vanilli" and inserted a different girl in the videos lip synch the lead vocals, because she wasn't overweight, and had a marketable appearance.

That's Martha Wash singing, not the chick featured in their videos. Everyone in the DJ community knew it at the time.
