I'm taking my driving test tomorrow and it's not until now that I'm feeling nervous :P Im confident it's just the little things I forget like turning my head to change lanes or my stops are a little too hard
Wow got a pass! Just came back from my driving test. All I can say is, get really used to driving yourself without any advice from others, because that really helps in the test! Also the test is cinch, if you can drive the car where they tell you and drive it safely, they think you're a driving god ;)
I was incredibly nervous going to the test, but it's really like being nervous going to the dentist. You walk in expecting a heavy-duty cleaning, but they just check you over and it's all good!
I'm going for my driving test (manual) in a few day's time, and I'd be lying if I were to say I'm feeling calm! Driving the car itself is laughably easy, but it's all the small things that get under my skin: Scanning at intersections, steering methods during slow manouvers, reading road signs, thinking about things early enough, road positioning at intersections...it's driving me mad!! (no pun intended) But I got a good feeling it's gonna be a pass first time :)
I just took my driver's license today and passed:) It was really simple, so goodluck to anyone that are about to take it, oh and relax, dont be nervous, you'll do fine :)
The person at 1:35 reminds me of the old Hollywood movies where the would have the actor driving in front of the green screen and the actor would supposedly be driving straight, but violently turning the wheel left and right.
Passing your test is one thing but keeping up trhe standards after that is something else. The problem in the UK is people getting someone else to take the test. Tail gating, speeding and dangerous overtaking is endemic.
What if you change lanes without looking because you watch the rear view mirror like a hawk and KNOW without a single doubt that there can not be a person in your blind spot?
I check my rear view mirror constantly, sometimes several times in a single second, and I am always aware of who is where, who is coming up on me and who is pulling on to the same road as me. I do not need to check my blind spot because I am BETTER THAN 99.9% of the drivers on the road.
@BallsInYourJawsBitch Well obviously you'll still fail. Just because you have an ego about your skills doesn't make a difference on the test. They need to know your just as capable as you think you are.
Each one of these drivers demonstrated a critical error that I suffer from: they don't look back to center between checking their mirrors and their blind spot. Yes this is all to be done quickly, but if you are looking to change lanes because people in front of you are stopping and you want to go around, I can't tell you how many times I've almost hit people because they are suddenly braking _much_ harder than when I checked my mirrors and then my blind spot in the same movement. Look forward!
passed the test in my dads mustang 2012 5.0 GT had some trouble when lane changing and looking over the shoulder and merging my speed went down and i had to downshift to 2nd then accelerate and go back to 3rd or else it'd make a grindy gear.
Automatic fail... At around.30 it took her over 5 secs to check her surroundings. At around 1.33 it took 3 secs which is much too long. While driving you should be glancing in your mirrors, not all together, every 7 to 8 secs. Which will make your manoeuvres so much easier and safer. What I've seen here is one of the main causes of car accidents and is a bad example for young drivers
i yet have to take my actual driver's test even though im currently driving a 125cc scooter. in my case, i do the ff: mirror, blindspot, signal, then turn. that way, i dont keep turning signals on and off. although of course, we all have to use the examiner's standards or we'll fail.
In the driving school I went to, they said to Mirror, signal, blindspot in that order. I think it should be mirror blindspot signal, because i find that the way taught in school and in the video just causes us to cancel the signal bunches of times if someone just happens to appear.
This is false. You check your mirror's, shoulder check, IF clear signal and proceed with caution with the lane change. Why would you turn your blinker on and then off and then on again...this will only confuse the drivers around you. Another way is to turn your blinker on, check mirrors, shoulder check, speed up or down and proceed. Don't turn on and off and on again. I hate people who are scared and not sure when driving. Like people who stop in the merging lane and sit there!
@CASSINOx you're apparently not supposed to do that. I did that once and someone waited for me and my instructor said i shouldn't do that. They'll take off major points for that :S
I've seen people here in Seattle back into small items, like bikes or scooters, completely fail parallel parking, and sometimes even forget to signal, and yet they still pass. PASS=FAIL
Disagree. You shouldn't signal to say you want to come over, then look. You should look to see if you can change lanes, then signal to TELL others you ARE coming over, Then look again and do it. Too often you see drivers going FOREVER down the road with a blinker on and no one has any idea when they'll make their move.
the society of american engineers published a paper on how to adjust your mirrors to eliminate blind spots. It's on car and driver's site. I followed it and it is unbelievably better way to set them up, super wide view. I am so much more relaxed and feel so much safer when changing lanes. If everyone did this we'd save thousands of lives.
im scared.. ugh im going to take the test tomorrow hopefully.. these videos making me nervous, how are you suppose to look over your shoulder while trying to control the car and not hitting anything in front of you.
@HELPMEIDUNNOHOWTOUSE I totally agree with you! you don't signal before checking your mirrors and blind spot, that is just misleading and highly dangerous! this video isn't giving out safe messages...
THIS IS COMPLETELY WRONG!! turning your signal on and off like that confuses people and you have to move quite close to the time you turn on your signal (don't leave it on for too long but don't signal and turn at the same time) so look around you to make sure you are not disrupting anyone then signal, then move over
