retro freerides are too grippy b/c of the reflex urethane formula also they slide really icy once they break free. they sound like elephants. Abec 11 classic freerides grip well but slide better and are really quiet
If anybody's looking for some nicer wheels than retro or abec 11 free rides just go for cult classics and if their not slidy enough use the new cults coming out cause they're even slidier seriously i've tried both get cults

@Longboardslidin97 its an aquired skill which takes practice, sure the right wheels/ board help but you can slide any deck with any set up if you have enough practice.
@naypaulm otang stims have a larger contact patch so they have slightly more grip. plus they aren't a round lip wheel like the retros. I think the stimulus have a more predictable and smoother drift as well. Also they last longer.

hey im tryin to decide on the retro 80, 83, or 86s but im leanin more towards the 86s cus i wana slide like this but one thing im concerned about is how well can you carve with em? like if you carve hard on a hill are u gona accidentally slide out or do they control good AND carve? maybe the 83's would be good idk?
@BurbsDesperado you can carve its just when you put your hands on the ground and really get into it is when itll slide on you. i have 86a and theyre no problem
@BurbsDesperado i have the retro 86a and they slide easy yet you can lean into your carves without it sliding out but if you plan on going faster with harder carves then get the 83's and if you want a really grippy but moderately slidey wheel get the 80a
