Yeah, but hitting the lines isn't difficult when you're going 1/2 the race pace. And (assuming) it's a 997 model you oughta have alot more grunt and stability than many of those other cars (assuming they're not modified).
Still, as I was told at my first track day (on a motorcycle) go for smooth. Smooth = fast. Pick up the pace when you're ready to.
That's true, but I'd say he's pushing it fairly hard for a beginner, just listen to the sound of his tires. He also doesn't lift for turn 1. That said...it's always better to gradually increase the pace instead of trying too hard at the beginning and having a (very expensive in this case) wreck.
