Hello, LatencyDK! I want to thank you for showing this vlog. I have a D80...about two years now....and it came with that same 18-135mm kit lens. You have shown me I can take great, inspiring pics with that same lens!! Dude, I 've been complaining about this lens the past few months b/c I want something bigger/better but I don't have that kind of cash right now. I DON'T NEED IT!! This lens can do good things....I just need more practice.....thanks!!!

if you are judging a Nikon SLR based on its Model Number:

The more ZEROS behind a number = More Basic the Camera

ie. D3 is far better than D300 (D3 Just check its price!)

Therefore, D80 is better than D5000. D5000 is just an Entry Level Camera.

nothing to compare.

skill does matter not camera. and lenses.

D80 is a cut'a'bit D200 (same AF, same CCD sensor,) a bt slower (3vs5fps) and w/o magnesium body. but still awsome body.

i choose CCD over cmos becouse of colors. im doing landscapes and street. i dont care bout iso 400++

D5000 is newer but dont have AF motor for example that is a minus imho.

so D90 or die. lol

Hey nice photos. With the macro pics of flowers and other vegetation try misting them down with a spray bottle before taking the pic. Gives it a nice dew or after rain look.

I have the D80 too. But your pictures are amazingly beautiful. It looks like they have been taken with an Macro Lens but I can see you used an 18-135mm...amazing work :)

the 18-135mm DX lens can get quite close to things, I find that its shortest focal distance is around 25cm when at about 90mm focal length. obviously its best to go for a proper macro lens though, it'll be brighter, faster and sharper with less distortion.
