  • I love the "tapioca" dance.

  • why did she consider her 'rich' if they live on the same floor?

  • I love the "wtf" look that Julie Andrews gave James Fox when he was doing the dance @ 7:22.

  • Comment removed

  • I tried tap dancing in an elevator once...it didn't end well

  • LMAO! from now on every time i see food im going to be like " *gasp* DELISH!" lololol

  • Miss Dorothy seems very Lazy I mean I know she's rich but she really should be considerate

  • Julie Andrews is the definition of triple threat.

  • im confused whats up with the crazy lady and the asians dudes

  • @karlaabc123 You don't know the show? You should gtfo... she pretends to be Asian and the Asians her her slaves because she has their mother.

  • @urmomstoxicface Um yaH I dont know the show bcuz this was my firszt time seeing it! So y dont U STFU and not be rude! Eh? SOunds good to me! o

  • @karlaabc123 I'm not going to listen to someone who doesn't know how to type proper English. So you should just stfu until you learn to do that.

  • @urmomstoxicface Oh. I know proper English i just choose not to take my time typing something that's not so important like an essay

  • @karlaabc123 Would you rather look ignorant?

  • @urmomstoxicface look im sorry everyone has bad days right this was one of mine...and just saying u looked ignorant too

  • @karlaabc123 Don't apologize. I'd also advise you rethink that.

  • @urmomstoxicface hmm No I don't need to rethink that its true.

  • @karlaabc123 Okay. Go ahead and think that. Maybe you'll learn some other time. I'm done trying to pull the veil from over your eyes. Have a nice life.

  • @urmomstoxicface omg....

  • @urmomstoxicface Uhm. Why are you being mean? Not everyone who watches this thing understands it their first time and it's not like EVERYONE knows what's going on. I haven't seen it before and I'm confused. So just calm down and stop being rude. Like, saying gtfo? Really?

  • @BriteNiteProductions Yes. Really. Don't like it? Then gtfo.

  • @urmomstoxicface Wow. Okay, just to let you know before you go embarrass yourself anymore, just because you can spell and use proper grammar, it doesn't make you better then anyone else, or more mature. Right now, you just look stupid, ignorant, and insolent. So I suggest you grow up and find something better to do then troll. Because really, it only makes people think you're a douche. Just some advice.

  • @BriteNiteProductions Thanks for the shitty advice.

  • @urmomstoxicface So, karlaabc123 had a bad day and admitted it and apologized. It looks like you're having a bad month, a very bad month. So get over yourself and try to get along with people.

  • @urmomstoxicface My month is fine, and I won't apologize because I'm not sorry. I don't think I'm better than anyone. When people are too stupid and/or impatient to wait or LOOK for what they want, I let them know so they can fix it. People then see it as douchebaggery, people like yourself. So stop playing hero, and stay out of other people's business.

  • @urmomstoxicface Oh. And just shut up :)

  • @BriteNiteProductions Oh. And no :)

  • @urmomstoxicface Whatever. You're choice. good luck in life. You're going to need it, douche.

  • @BriteNiteProductions Nice try.

  • @urmomstoxicface You're welcome, I hope you take it into deep consideration because you obviously need it. Have a good day.

  • "Millie! Millie! This is him!" *flips guy over*

    "Terrif!"

  • @FelineFearless i know lollollollollollollollollollol

  • :( I wanna go to the friendship ball with Julie Andrews.

  • The one Asian guy is the guy from the Karate Kid

  • I love " I can't believe that you're in love with me " too much.

  • God, I love this film so much! I've got it on dvd, but when I saw i here I just couldn't resist!

  • I've just watched Star! (1968), I was amazed that Dame Julie was not at the very least nominated for an academy award, now I find this film from the same year, if her performance is as good here as it was in Star!, then I'm sure I'll enjoy this too, thanks for posting.

  • Forget YMCA next school dance im starting the TAPIOCA!!!!! p.s. i go to highschool :)

  • "In the Ritz elevator all you do is go up and down." ^_^ I LOVE MISS DORTHY!

  • Did anyone else just fall in love with the tapioca? I mean, it's so catchy, and creative.

  • LOL at the tapioca dance XD

  • where's the chinese accent???? :(

  • the only bad thing about this movie is it's disrespectful towards chinese people. and the end, for me, is a down - hill case, and was really mean to the two chinese guys

  • how shit would it be for a person in a wheelchair??

  • Thank you so much for posting this! :D

And, I really want to dance in the Elevator, it looks like fun!

  • I love Julie Andrews face when they are dancing on top of the cases.

  • My 8th grade class is doing this for school. Im Millie(:

  • This movie is such a spoof on how ppl see the 20s today, just singing and tap dancing all day long.

  • A hotel were the owner high jack the guests for inmoral stuffs...?? I see were Eli Roth get his idea for Hostel... The difference is that this movie is wonderfull, with endearing characters and a lots of fun... and Hostel is a complete waste of time.

  • 'In the Ritz elevator, all you do is go up and down.' lol

  • Is that pat morita at the beginning?

  • I just love how they magically have taps in the bottoms of their shoes. I wish my everyday shoes had that special little feature!(:

  • I love how they just happen to have a routine worked out. Sure Millie, but Dorothy too? ;3

  • O My God ! Julie Andrews is absolutely perfect >_<

  • Comment removed

  • @sagendare : "something tells me you're not purse poor..."

  • I love the lift scene! gotta go join tap dance class now!

  • Is the reception glasses man Pat Morita?

  • Haha...I love the elevator part. Mary is so cute I love her. Also I love the way she talks in this movie. I think it's great when they tap dance and tap their feet together. I LOVE MARY TYLER MOORE!!!

  • I love their dance in the elevator! It's so cool!

  • Bun Foo! Ching Ho!

  • You can see Andrews nipples !

  • GHB at 9:00 !!!!!!! :O

  • TERRIF! DELISH! Fun movie! I've been looking for it for ages; finally found it on Amazon. It's actually based on the Broadway hit "The boyfriend" from 1954.

  • hahahaha the elevator scene is so cool.lol

*note to self*--learn the Tapioca LOL

  • if i live in that place i'll probably just take the stairs all the time. is it even practical to take the elevator? i mean isnt it more tiring than the stairs? especially when you're floor's on the very top.

  • I love this. i like when her thoughts pop up on the screen! and next time im in an elevator im going to tap dance, that means i have to learn this....here we go

  • mrs meers is brilliant, class actress. mr miyagi from karate kid looks young on here.

  • Bad to be alone in the world....................buenisssssimaaaaaa

  • Holy Cow. Time has not been good to James Fox at all. You all know him. He plays Mr. Salt in the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  • I think I would die happily if I was in a crowded place and they just all broke out into a song and dance number. Would be great.

  • I love the elevator scenes!!!!

  • @manuelherrera777 a mi tambien me encanta, I love , too

  • both the oriental actors are Japanese. How insulting to imply they look like Chinese.

  • Oh, never mind I think the story was probably made in 1922 and the movie in 1967.

  • This wasn't made in 1922 was it?

  • i can't believe you just said that....

  • This film has so many classic lines.

Voice coaching for both British and Americans playing each other has certainly improved since these days.

Mind you, I don't think there was any suggestion that Millie is supposed to be American.

I love the opening lines of this sequence.

    "Laundly Lady

    You you, pussy changli hangi"

Getting away with inserting the word "pussy" into this is a scream, even if it was unintentional.

  • Franks are slang for hotdogs

  • Thanks. That would have been my guess.

  • I feel so ignorant. What are franks (sp)?

  • i can't believe that bea lillie was in her late sixties or early seventies when they made this

  • possibly one of my fave movies=]

thanks so much for posting this!

  • gah he's a perfect jimmy! i love it!

  • Oh, he's just full of applesauce. 8^D

  • I love it how British actors are playing American characters, Julie Andrews, James Fox.

I always love the elevator scene.

  • LOL 40 words per minute. xD... How times have changed. rofl.

  • did julie always have a mole?

  • I love the little "silent movie" sarcastic asides! I must say, this gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "elevator music"!

  • Growing up in the 70's I always had this Singin' in the rain' at best, view of the 1920's. As I got older and became more exposed to the real music ( and dance, ugh! I don't, but like to watch the ladies) it seems that even something as early as the early 40's is very off in the interpretation of what the 20's was really like. I can't put my finger on it, but the fact remains that i love anything done in the 20's, but movies about the 20's always rub me like a bad Happy Days episode. The B&W?

  • Millie compliments MsDorothy at 1:41. Its so curious that she doesn't really thank Millie but instead she falls silent. That part always kills me, lol

  • :] i love this movie and musical!

we performed it two years ago it was amazing.

  • Im a guy and i wouldnt mind dancing for an elevator to go up haha

  • @aasjb4ever

I'm a guy too. I'd come and dance w/ you, but alas, I have no talent.

This has to be one of the most fun numbers in any musical. Like Gene dancin' in the rain or Fred

and Judy as a couple of swells.

    Tnx 4 the nostalgic post.

  • My god, this first scene is pretty offensive with their depictions of Chinese people and that women in yellowface speaking stereotypical fake Chinese.

  • that's exactly how it's supposed to be. especially since she is a fake chinese. it all works out in the end trust me.

  • Thanks for clearing that up, I haven't seen the other parts.

  • you're very welcome.

  • sooooo cute!

  • so its either learn how to dance or take the stairs

  • I had noodles for dinner. DO THE NOODLE!!!!

  • Boy, I guess if you can't dance, you'd never get anywhere in that hotel, lol!

  • I love the elevator coreography!

  • Fantastic movie - thanks so much for posting! I'm so glad YouTube hasn't made you pull it down yet!

  • Mee too! :D

But I think this movie is ok, and they wont delete my channel or anything for posting it. The one who was to blame when my channel was deleted, was "Torn Curtain",

So I wont be posting that one again... :(

  • Turn Curtain is on Youtube under the name:

    TrnCrtn1

Thanks Ine for post all Julie movies!

  • The Tapioca scene is one of my favorites!
