Irene, you know the video count on this is going to explode right? I recommend that you ask for it to be put as "part III" with the o zittre and holle rache...people will find it more easily.

Hi. You're confusing this with the videos of Natalie Dessay, who was indeed pregnant in 1994 when they were filmed live.
Damrau can't get pregnant...she's FAR too evil. I don't think babies can actually survive in such an heartless being. Just kidding, I love Damrau. I still would never want to make her angry.
Thank you for sharing that clip! Damrau is always an amazing Queen of the Night. Not only does she have exceptional vocal command over the role, but she's such a good actress. Her demeanor completely exudes authority and menace.
By any chance, could you post the rest of the opera's finale? I would be interested in hearing Sarastro's recitative and the final chorus, following the Queen's defeat.
I saw Damrau at the Met recently in Entfurung aus dem Serail, she was great! Also, she came to our class!!!! (Not my normal school, but the Met children's Opera class, which I also attend). She's so nice and really quite funny! And I was allowed to pester her for an autograph!

I read a post that Damrau is pregnant in this performance. I thought highly unlikely, but you never know.
