@whatnameainttakn He never had a chance though, the guy who hand launched threw it upwards so the plane would stall instantly and be uncontrolable, when hand launching it needs to be threw level or slightly down to give the aircraft chance to gain speed.
you're far more retarded than I ever thought possible. Make sure you catch the bus early in the morning, buddy....you're going back to 3rd grade starting tomorrow. LOL
@yourhawkdriver I made a little mistake! Get over yourself, i'm not in the attention seeking country that America is i live in the United Kingdom (which made you) and we have Secondary school not 3rd grade!
@SuperPianowizard Im sorry bud, but we went and started are own country because we were sick of you. You got mad and started a war over it. By the way..we won that war, so keep your negative comments to yourself.
@CJpilot316 True :L Loving your F-16 Thunderbirds display team! Saw them at a show in the UK on Saturday (RAF Waddington) extremely entertaining to watch!
@SuperPianowizard Oh awesome! I have never seen them myself, but I am flying down to New Hampshire next month to watch them perform. Ive seen the Blue Angels a couple times...but from what I hear, the Thunderbirds are better.
@CJpilot316 That sounds awesome! I've never seen the Blue Angels perform live so i wouldn't be able to compare them but the Thunderbirds were definitely a winner!
Judging by the sound, the prop was too big for the 2 stroke engine which didn't let it spin at reasonable rpm which led to a lack of thrust. Combined with overall bad technique in hand launching and rc flying the plane stalled and crashed. Should have asked someone who's done something like that before.
Should not be trying to hand launch that thing. If it won't take off from the ground then it shouldn't be flown. Or if you're not able to take it off from the ground then you shouldn't be flying it.
You did a hand start with a plane that had perfectly good gear and also a smooth road right there?? And the launcher threw it UP in the air?? btw - the engine sounds underpowered for that plane, too. Just do us all a favor - dont' fly when there's other people around.
@RcWorld7 what? no pylon planes arent 3d. i was commenting that they are hand launched and they are nitro. this wasnt underpowered. you need airspeed to fly.
i usually (ocasionally) hand lunch my NITRO r/c plane, its clear on this video that this involved good judgement and level of piloting skill, which in this case pilot error lead the plane into the situation
Launch nitro planes by hand if you want to. No problems there at all. The problem is that it was a POOR LAUNCH ... Do not throw, javalin-like, up at the sky - the plane needs speed and pointing it upwards means it has damn all chance of getting it. Horizontal, fast, straight, wings level and under control - this launcher got zero out of five.
a nice flat field, a nitro plane, landing gear, and someone who dosent understand that planes cant be thrown up or they stall. Why on earth did you do a hand start ?
i got a 5.31 lb profile biplane that i can hand launch, with a super tigre 51, but your shit sounds like a weak as os .40 LA, shitty engine, you need like a 11x4 for hand launching, probably got like 12x6. LMAO-FAIL!!!!!
It's has tricycle landing gear.... use the ground... just like when you start riding a bike.... lol --- hand launching a nitro plane with wheels.... hmmmm... use the road !!! or even short grass!
@hasanjohnh NON! It's a glow engine! Nitro is term someone in Taiwan came up with to help sell product to a new generation of idiot American that also call R/C "Remote Control" instead of the original "Radio Control". And the problem is that the hand launching was done by someone without any skill or correct technique, and who was trying to maladroitly "throw" into the air rather than launch it and place it in the air etc, etc.
Stupid idea to hand launch....there was a paved surface nearby. Not only that but a crappy launch with someone inexperienced in flight. Dumbass needed to flatten the plane out immediately, instead we point up, tip stall and crash. Great way to ruin an otherwise good airpolane.
The trick is not to run as that only adds an extra 5mph lol When you could stand still to add extra power with both hands and get it up to flying speed.
I have hand launched much bigger than this before.
That airplane is too large for a hand launch. You need to have a larger motor and more muscle on the toss. Also the angle of attack was too steep at launch. But, you can always try it again it can be done.
Stupid ass. Apparently you dont know what your doing. Throw it level. You should make your dumbass helper buy you a new plane. And get one with some balls in the engine.
the real problem there is that you need the right size prop. it is a gas engine. the prop is hardly spinning at the beginning. the problem was the lack of thrust
This is too big a class of aircraft to be hand-launching under any circumstance. Unless you can run 10-15 mph while balancing a 6-8lb aircraft with spinning steak knives in front of it. One slip of that hand and it's a goner! Very unsafe practice...I doubt these guys are part of anything even semi-organized.
That sucks. Everyone who has hand-launched planes much has done this. I saw a guy throw a beautiful scratch built wright flyer straight into the ground once. I thought the owner was gonna start crying.
throwing hardly can cause the plane lack of thrust and it stalls consequently. Unless you can determine how fast it is launched and in the same time u adjust the power with ur RC.
It is all based on thrust to weight ratio. if you have 30% more thrust than weight, you can fly 'up' versus 'straight' when you start. In the end, always launch the plane straight and level, build speed, and then pull back a little.
thats why u take off from the ground. thats what landing gear are for. dumbass you launch it slightly down towards the ground becus when you launch it up, it stalls.
It's called a tip stall and it's because the pilot grabbed to much elevator. Honestly you dont need to run and throw the aircraft, there should be enough enough power for it to pull away on its own.
hand launching is easier for a beginner, and you launch it at about a 10 degree up so when it begins to dive (like a carrier launch) they have time to recover.
I have always been taught to throw it straight. Guess everyone has there own way but throwing it to far up will stall it.... thus what just happened here.
