Pencil thin mustache, left handed smokes, halter tops, 8 track tapes, fast cars, and bell bottoms just to name a few memories.......what's yours You Tube fans?
US Fesival 1982 was my Jimmy introduction. Why not get and ..you know the rest. The sad part is i know people who think he has no talent or Mojo. Gimme a break. I'm playin Pencil Thin on my Taylor 2 ...right about now...
This reminds me of when I was a little kid, when my dad grilled hamburgers in the summertime while blasting Jimmy Buffett from his old radio, and that when I rode my bike a little ways down the street I could still faintly hear the music....
@Swatantra100 im only 20 and I dont wear underwear, dont cut my hair and I definitely dont go to church....I guess that means when I get older I'll be a full fledged nudist with hair down to my ass and burn down churches...ahh the American Dream
My father passed away last year in September. This was our song. We would have danced to it at my wedding, the way he used to have me stand on his feet while we used to dance around the living room to it. I just listen to it over and over on days when I need him, and today is one of those days. I love you daddy, miss you every single day. It still hurts just the same.
@MrsHansen728 Hang in there my friend, and always dance with your dad in your memories. My mom passed away last year, and we are still singing Buffett together.
I cried when I read this, literally. Made me remember dancing on my daddy's feet when I was little and this song.....I also do the rewind over and over of special songs when I need them. You have a friend here Mrs. Hanson!!!!
I came here to listen today, 4 days from the one year anniversary of his death. Thank you for your comment. Hugs to you too! So glad someone else remembers this as a very special song.
My mom used to listen to this all the time along with 'Come Monday' on her record player back in '76. I would've been about 7-8 years old. Definitely brings back the memories.
Went and saw him with his "first" broken leg. No stage decorations, no coral reefer band, no hype. Just Jimmy and an extra barstool for his broken leg. No matter how much things change, they all stay the same. Just emailed my niece "We are the People our Parents warned us about". Well, she asked me for advice?!
One of my favorites to listen to and play! I had a blast working at Margaritaville in New Orleans for 5 years! Miss you Bret, Tyra and Sheila! Happy Mardi Gras! How about them Saints! Maybe picking up soon? I'd love to come back! Have a great day!
Mario Perez passed away in 1974. Houston, Texas Kayo Gas and Oil Company, are they still around? "Kayo", Magic+ ghost town "Kayo", Tennessee.
Since the song was made in 1973 it could explain why you think that way.
Mario willed me his Dodge Polara, the carbarator would hold open sticking the exellerator to the floor. lol. Maybe we should turn away from intellectual property theft of Nipponease in Singapore after Palapa program and let go of silly games.
I went deep sea fishin for the first time yesterday and was introduced to jimmy buffet....good shit for fishin and drinking and watching dolphins jump through the wake!
@newbiepeanut I love that. Same with me. I'm a twenty one year old who was raised on Jimmy Buffett, and the Beatles. With smaller portions of everything in between.
