The scene during the last seconds of this video has about 60 cars, which carry some 100 people. They would all fit in a single bus, tram, or a railroad car, and it would occupy just one lane. 100 people walking or cycling would take roughly the same space as a moving bus.

The volt is not an 'electric car' its a serial hybrid like the Honda Insight but with a plug in ability. Its not a secret, do a search on YouTube its all over the place.

GM (General Morons) lost their lead with the electric car when they crushed the EV1.

The spec of the Volt comes nowhere near that of the EV1 for electric range.

Sigh...the illusion of a viable electric car. Not gonna happen by 2010 folks, if it ever will! Do you honestly think that GM, (do they even have a hybrid?) will actually have an electric car out before Honda and Toyoya? If so, it's time to give your head a shake - when either Honda or Toyota start talking electric car, then it will be on the horizon.

Its laugible to say the least., I watched this dude that weighed 80lbs soaking wet filling his huge SUV. my cars 11 gallons tank., I asked him how big the tank was. He said 44 gallons. And that includes Universal Healthcare as well, because implementing policy, at best, takes a year to go into effect, once the laws are enacted.

But there isn't any corporate tyranny. Capitalism is about making money PERIOD. Just is. Look at the robber barons of the 19th century. When they got out of hand, that's when the progressives, ordinary citizens, banded together to do something about it. Now, based upon a pure economic reason, the same thing is happening again. All of us will have to wait until the effects take root, sadly.

How is it not corporate tyranny? Unaccountable, privatized corporations rule the country, doing whatever they want, prioritizing and securing their interests over that of the peoples. The same corporations that have taken over the media, reformed the government to meet their needs and survive through the existence of a large and poor wage labor class. They thrive on keeping the poor population up and wages down. If that's not the work of a tyrant, I dunno what is.

Wrong. Corporations are the biggest contributors of humanitarian aid outside of the government. In fact, if it hadn't been for the business community, there would not been anyone to fund the first colleges and so forth. Sure, they do so out of a self-serving agenda, but money has to be generated somehow, and the government doesn't "make" money.

The problem with your statement is that you're assuming that corporations are autonomous. They are made up of people who have an invested interest in making money. So, they lobby governments in order to maximize their profit margin. That idea is as old as the banking system and the merchant class. The reason why we can see it is because of the speed of which the media can "report" on the actions of the corporation.

But, so are you. WHO controls the corporations? WHAT is the motivation? HOW are corporations able to lobby governments? You said that the "evil" corporations are doing all this things, but you haven't given any concrete definitions on the method that corporations are using to effect policy. THAT is what I'm getting at. But if you are more comfortable is seeing corporations as mere "boogie entities" devoid of human connections, then nothing is going to CHANGE, and that's sad.
