And it's irrelevant anyway, I was only speaking rhetorically about the prospects of the US being a theocracy like the muslim nations - where people are not allowed to express different religious beliefs. My point was that even if we were to become a "christian nation" we would first have to decide which "denomination" we adhere to.
@eluminated Yes, each denomination has differences, but they're all Gentile, they all believe Jesus is the Son of God, and many other likenesses. Eluminated, we may not look like a Christian nation anymore, but we were founded on that. Our Constitution, our pledge came from this country's belief in God; almost all of our societal laws were based on God's laws. Even if someone doesn't believe, they can't deny the founding fathers had God on their minds while putting this nation together.
@thepartyof4 "Under god" didn't enter into the pledge until the 20th century, and while some of the founders and many people today may personally be christians the US is not a "christian nation". We are not a theocracy, which was my original point. In fact, at the time we were founded christianity wasn't exactly known for its love of individual liberty so to say it was the root of our secular system is really just history being re-written. But again, this has nothing to do with the topic here.

But of course taking these words from the holy books and carrying them out literally cannot be tolerated. But it isn't because we reject one of the religions that holds these beliefs, it's because murder and assault are illegal in our secular society. After reading all the comments, I wanted to chime in. I believe the federal govt. is up to a few things. The flood gates are staying open becuz they want their votes & will probably get them; look @ those wonderful benefits. They don't enforce their own fed laws to enable it, and...to keep us arguing about it, among other things. Middle class is almost gone-FireThunder knows where we go next, "apathy to dependence, from dependence to bondage". Everyone needs to look at the big picture; I think.

Why are the ratings disabled? I thought the dedication on the truck to their religion seemed a little ironic when two women appeared to be out in it and eating at McDonald's. (ha ha) As an American, it's difficult for me to understand how any woman would participate in this religion. And since it seems they CANT get away from it, you'd think that our country wouldn't support it in any way. And yet Mosques are trying to get erected in TX, KY, CT, TN, NY.... Law schools in our country have been studying Sharia Law, Islamic family Law for years, mostly through handling divorces & have put together article(s) for reference. Now: Sharia law in NJ. The judge said, "this court does not feel that this defendant had a criminal desire to sexually assault the plaintiff...he was operating under his belief that his desire to have sex when he wanted to was consistent with his practices...". He was raping his wife. Luckily, appellate court overturned this.

And it's irrelevant anyway, I was only speaking rhetorically about the prospects of the US being a theocracy like the muslim nations - where people are not allowed to express different religious beliefs. You say things like "our cutlure" and "our religion" and there is no such thing. My point was that even if we were to become a "christian nation" we would first have to decide which "denomination" we adhere to.

@eluminated Yes, each denomination has differences, but they're all Gentile, they all believe Jesus is the Son of God, and many other likenesses. Eluminated, we may not look like a Christian nation anymore, but we were founded on that. Our Constitution, our pledge came from this country's belief in God; almost all of our societal laws were based on God's laws. Even if someone doesn't believe, they can't deny the founding fathers had God on their minds while putting this nation together.

@thepartyof4 "Under god" didn't enter into the pledge until the 20th century, and while some of the founders and many people today may personally be christians the US is not a "christian nation". We are not a theocracy, which was my original point. In fact, at the time we were founded christianity wasn't exactly known for its love of individual liberty so to say it was the root of our secular system is really just history being re-written. But again, this has nothing to do with the topic here.

Having said that though, any religion that believes people should be murdered to further their cause, or murdered or mutilated to follow it "laws" just cannot be tolerated in this country. But of course taking these words from the holy books and carrying them out literally cannot be tolerated. But it isn't because we reject one of the religions that holds these beliefs, it's because murder and assault are illegal in our secular society. I can only guess that you must be speaking about the laws of the Old Testament but b/c Jesus died on the cross we are no longer subject to the OT laws, as in we don't have to offer "blood sacrifices" to appease God. Their stickers are no more threatening than NASCAR stickers, Jesus fish or rebel flags... I do agree with you that sharia law would be extremely harmful if we allow it to start carrying weight in our judicial system, but carrying on about this truck and using it as "evidence" of some evil plot is just rediculous.
