Loved Ayaka's voice in English. I don't know others, but I didn't like Nodoka's English voice, it was like argh... please speak a little bit more high! Even the japanese was higher D=

Nodoka's English VA, though I without a doubt still prefer the Japanese VA, is really good.

Satsuki's English VA made Satsuki sound like a boy, with a slightly odd voice too.

Zazie's English VA, not good, not bad, not average. Hard to say something about it, especially since she has so little screen time and all. I suppose above average.

Yotsuba - Ummm, she was supposed to sound like a sweet girl, but Monica Rial just made her sound like a gorilla.

Dubbing is when you edit out the voice and replace it with another.

The whole Dub vs Sub argument I personally feel is irrelevant, its a, to each his own situation, although most anime fans probably prefer subbed, I hate reading and missing whats going on in the show. The only really bad voice acting Ive ever heard had to been in dubbed hentai.

the quality of an anime is largely based off the voice acting if its off by a tiny fraction your attention will be drawn to how rediculous it sounds i cannot get over how eng dubbed negi sounds like eng dubbed hinata (from naruto) it works for hinata not for negi XD my preferense is definately japenese w/eng subs for negima

Someone may have already said so, the american DVD has an option to play the japanese audio. But anyway this video makes a good point, the japanese voice actors were very well chosen, that was what the characters sounded like to me when I read the manga. I have to concur that I watch anime, in the original japanese with subtitles (still learing japanese myself). Sometimes the dialogue contains japanese words that don't get said correctly I personally can't stand incorrectly pronnounced words.

I'm sure the American anime industry has enough money and resources to get decent voice actors.

The problem is in timing, differences between language and technological difficulties.

This is part of the reason I so deeply prefer subtitles.
