I think "hip/hop" frankly is a noxious contagion in the music industry that has corrupted the purity of Duran Duran. Hopefully their next album will be sans this ignoble "trend." Hip/hop is to music as Etch-a-Sketch is to art. Period.
Sorry, there is no hip hop sound to this music. This is just crappy 80's sound at its worse. Not like Duran Duran used to be but like many other bands were during the 80's.

the more i listen to the studio version of night runner the more i like it. ive heard falling down too, and i think its a poor reflection of duran in 2007. between the 2, night runner is more current and i think would do better
this is not a professinal recording. i think the studio version will shed light on the song. you must remember that they are testing this out on an audience. surely the final mix of the song has not been finished. give it time.

I actually quite like this song -- and I've been a fan for twenty-five years. To me, it blends that "traditional" Duran sound with a contemporary, hip edge to it. Change is good. Why follow a band for all these years if you're not willing to allow them to grow musically? I think people would be disappointed if they kept churning out songs that sound like "Rio" over and over...
Dude they are washed up... They are trying to be modern, hip and stuff and it's not going to work.
