@PeteZuranbeer Yeah ,Colin used to star occasionally as "Vern Cappuccino".
I am testing my memory but hear goes....Frank Holden(Vinnie Cappuccino) David Briggs(Thunderclap Merino) John Grant (Mungo Zoot) Geoff Cox (Randy Lovedust) Tony Naylor ( B flat Baxter) Bruno Dstanzlio (Bruno Dicklicker) and as you mentioned Keith as Mahatma Caine......Mondays where the best back then.
Did you also see "Big night out" later on with a similar line up????
@mrsgritoli1 :) Colin was always called Eddie Ego when I saw them. Don't remember Bruno Dicklicker, and Ian Holding played bass (can't remember his stage name at the mo).
@PeteZuranbeer Gday, i think maybe Frank Holden gave Colin the name "Vern" (Vinnies long lost brother) Big Night Out played at the Star for a little while, but also played a few other places as well. Freddy Strauks from Skyhooks was the drummer instead of Coxy, the rest of the line up was the same. When Keith McKay became sick he dropped out, but came back one night for a special gig at the Star Hotel called Keith Mckay Fight back which was a support gig for him put together by lots of musos.
@PeteZuranbeer Cont from prev message.........Mike Brady, Nicky Nicholls, Colin Setchers, Geoff Cox, where some of the guests. Mike and Coxy went on to form Cox,Brady band with Tony Naylor, John Grant and Nicky Nicholls. Naylor, Grant, David Briggs and Freddy Strauks also played for a While with Mae Parker and the Haetbeat.
@mrsgritoli1 Thanks v.much for that, I missed those gigs unfortunately. I can vividly remember being blown away by these guys...versions of Tin Soldier, Revolution, Magic carpet ride, Eloise..etc..were on par with the originals. I know that they recorded some of the roxy gigs, one day I hope to track down those tapes. Cheers!
