Can you imagine if the following came together to do a one-off record: Frank Zappa, Steve Hackett, Godley and Creme, Brian Eno, and Sparks. It would have been sick!!!
Got all their albums, each one I poured over ever note, lyric, meaning, chord progression and instrument/musician used, they are without doubt (in my mind at least) the finest artists this planet has produced to date! Every track is unique and shows brilliance in some form or another, awesomeness personified. I just wish Kevin and Lol would kiss and make up...
So so cool. I bought this album when it first came out some 30 years ago and it still sounds fresh and unique. Its a one of a kind masterpiece of sound and engineering.
Hey, I know exactly what you mean! I hear Consequences years ago and was blown away. Their multi-layered harmonies could easily rival those of Queen and the tongue was always firmly in cheek!
Definitely the 'arty' edge to 10cc that left when Lol and Kevin did. So sad!
Yes we're all here and love this band/duo so much. I'm still trying 25 yrs later to try to turn people on to their sickness. They were Ween before Ween in a way....Steely Dan on acid and Zappa.....Lennon & McCartney if Eno had raised them...SHEER GENIUS!! celebrate Kevin & Lol.......
Perhaps one of the finest love lyrics ever written !! lol
I still have this (vinyl) album in my collection. I remeber I used to play the album repeatedly as the lyrism is superb - and ofetn quite, no VERY dark.
The dirty Jew line in Punchbag is a chilling reminder of the dangers of seccular and ethnic marginilastion which continue to haunt us all despite the atonement post WWII.
It`s so nice to hear it again in such good quality....THANKS A LOT :-) It`s so long ago since the last time....I`ve got 45years on my back now, and have heard it at last when I was about 26....and I´ve really got this pieces of music in my mind very often, but had no one arround who knew this proggresiv and fantastic sound. Goodley & Creme, are some of the most creative heads music ever has know and it`s sad they`ve been forgotten so long....
Brilliant song and I love Lol Creme's vocals

10cc lost a lot when Godley and Creme departed. Maybe if they had stayed, "Bloody Tourists" might not have been their last top 10 studio album.
