What you have there is called the "Ocean Ghost" it has the Citizen Miyota (Mee-Oh-Tah) 8215 automatic 21 Jewel movement. The bezel is indeed a uni-directional rotating bezel, which means it rotate one way only (both ways would be "Bi-directional". It also has a screw down crown with custom "glass" cabochon on the crown. You can find this watch at most popular retailers for just over $100.
And what kind of Swiss watch do you have in mind to purchase? Let me guess....a Geneva stamped Swiss made Invicta in Platinum? Lol You crack me up man. Keep the videos coming it's entertaining.
You paid $389.00 for that watch? I have the same one that I bought it two yrs ago at JCPenny with a two yr extended warranty for $114.00, I've seen them on shopnbc for as little as $ 75.00? They saw u coming you got ripped off big time.
Oh I did want to add one other thing I do understand that you perfer to buy retail but ShopNBC has done me right and they do give you 30 days so if you dont like just send it back I have the same one as your video and like i said im waiting for ShopNBC to restock on the 2307 the blue dial All Swiss Gold Layering that Invicta does its on sale for $105.90 right now Well keep up the great videos you might see mine someday Art
Hello again I am not one to try and correct a person but it is a uni directional dial uni is like a uni cycle meaning one so the bezel goes one way meaning uni directional. Im sorry if you might think im a jerk but i do like your reviews and i want you to have the right info actually the Ocean Ghost series has been out for some many years now and they are on their third version of the Watch I am waiting to get the swiss gold layering one with the blue dial myself IM just trying to be helpful
Thank you very much for your reply. And yes you are very right, not only is it expensive but it's expensive to maintain them all... with keeping them running like new its necessary to have them service at least every 4 years. This is why I purchase maybe three every year.
love your videos! I am pumped to see them. I have been looking at buying a watch, and came across the invicta line. I have never contemplated in collecting watches. But now that you mention it, I think i might start collecting them. It saves me the trouble of deciding which watch to purchase - LOL!!! What is the address of your blog? Keep the reviews coming - love them!
Well thank you very much. It pleases me to bring inspiration to another person of like interest. Collecting watches to me is what brings me peace. I love all watches... cheap ones right up to the high line brand names. I guess I'm more into the whole machanical aspects of how man has learn to capture time... and with time brings memory.
I will continue to bring blogs to those that enjoy them.
Nice video!! Invicta is by far NOT my brand of watch but they have a good price and i can tell you enjoy collecting them from this video. Its alwayse good to see someone post watch review vids of watches they actually love and not pretend its a rolex, tag heuer ect. i will be looking out for your vids.
Well thank you. Yeah, well I myself LOVE all watches. I have everything from high end watches (A. Lange and Sohne, Petak Philippe, Breguet, etc. etc. etc) to the very basic low end watches (Wenger, ESQ, Invicta). I enjoy reading and learning about all watches. They all do one thing... KEEP TIME! I'm not into name brands but more into the sheer machanisms involved in a man made device.
Invicta is a great watch brand. They have some great models for 09. I have the Prowler chrono ss/blk with carbon fiber dial, and the Pro Diver 40mm auto with a blue dial the Miyota movt. Will get more, pending approval of my wife. Lol!
HAhahaha... yeah I feel you! My girl friend wants to go to Spain this summer but I been eye-balling this really nice Swiss Made watch (not an invicta although there a few I want to add to my collection), I trying to decide which is more important... a summer trip in Spain with the old lady of a really NICE swiss made watch on my wrist?!? Hell summer is coming and a NEW watch would look swell on my wrist in a short sleeve short (hahahaha)!
Love your reviews, please keep making them. One correction though, the bezel on this Pro Diver # 2301 (from the Ocean Ghost II series) is a unidirectional bezel...meaning it only turns counter clockwise (necessary for any diving watch). I love rotating bezels.
Keep up the good reviews. I have the copper dial version (model 2302) en route and my price was $110. I know you prefer retail, but retail prices are incredibly inflated. The 2302 is currently available at Amazon for $123.
Oops... I meant to say its only a unidirection. And the reason I buy retail is I like to "touch and feel" what I want to purchase. Although I never had any bad experiences from online purchase... I DID come to meet other people who have purchased watches online and got burned!
So I don't mind (personally) paying a bit more for my watches at retail price!
I agree that you should stick to the method you're most comfortable with. For me, I buy my watches exclusively online and have had great success. I just make sure I buy from reputable sources where I can return my watch if there are any issues.
