Afer listening to the final studio version I still believe that this should have been the ultimate version of the song (specifically in regarding to the metric of the vocals)
So far this is still the best version of this song I heard on youtube. i wish it was recorded as is. imperfect, almost whispered, struggling vocals like Sigur Ros,/Radiohead/bJork, imperfect guitars. i love this.
Also (I forgot) => (and i honestly do not like the female vocalist... a non-perfect female singer (think bjork) would be more appropriate for the drama that Anathema are trying to achieve => Anathema is not opera... it is the desperate cry that comes from the dirty streets...
wow. two years later and this is still the best recording/version i have heard. For some reason there is more drama in this one than in the others on youtube and it also has a somewhat Radiohead vibe to it. i really hope that they keep this vocal line rather than the staccato one they used in other live performances. by far, this is my most anticipated song from the new record. Hindsight was phenomenal but i want more energy
can't agree with you more, mandraak84. i've heard them play this song 2 months ago, in Dordrecht. I never heard anything like this live. So much emotion in it.
Thank you so much for this video. I can't wait to hear the studio version. This song is so powerful! and Anathema are the most underestimated band in Europe. They need to start playing with rock bands instead of metal shows/fests
true, the vocal melody is very strong in this version, a pity they threw it away, it proofs they've been working too long on the stuff
