Highly under rated actress. Her natural ease came across beautifully on screen, and was highly regarded as a good actress by her fellow contemporaries (Louise Brooks, Harlow and Lombard )

A tragic life, woven with the wonderment of her onscreen persona. How lucky are we who have had the opportunity to view this enchanting actress in all her glory.

One doesnt become a screen legend for nothing you know

What a gal what a gal Miss Clara was...Im reading her bio, fantastic!! Her life was rough but she came out on top, with some rocky roads along the way, but she married & had two sons. and when she died she was finally able to.....sleep!

She had insomnia all her life due to her mother trying to kill her in her bed while sleeping.

Thanks for this I guess you can say my three favorite ladies are Clara, Carole & Jean.

until now, I don't recall seeing a color photo of her...though I heard Lucille Ball say that Clara was the reason she wore her hair red...beautiful photos...it's almost as if they were taken recently...

It's hard to believe how bad her childhood was. Then, to slide into such issues in adulthood. At least today, there is help for kids and adults with her issues. Prevention is best, though.
