I prefer epoxy on the braces just due to the added strength and stiffness. When designing this bracing, I paid a lot of attention to Smallman's bracing system where he covers the braces in carbon fiber. I think it adds to the way the string energy gets transferred to the top.
Yes, the top bracing gets shaped when I voice the top (vid soon to be up at website). How you shape those braces will really determine the sound of the guitar.

Why do you use epoxy, rather than wood glue, and do you carve down the top bracing?
