ok according to my doctor i have glandular fever, i had pretty much all the symptoms in this video but i also got facial swollowing, started with my left eye and it progressed to my right eye then my cheeks and lips :S

Yeh i have this atm... the fever has nearly gone now... i feel so useless . I have had it for 3 days now... but my sore throat didnt come till after the fever...apparently gargling with salty water helps..i got mine from kissing :) so that maybe a bonus lol

I had glandular fever AND tonsilitis, which was fairly severe. I have never been so ill in my life. Today I feel better but apparently it is one of these infections which relapse. Still, i'm counting my blessings, my cousin had to be hospitilized for it!

doc said it was my spleen swolen along with ym liver swolen, but it has been hurting for about 2 weeks now. and its crippling pain. i was taking pain killers and ibupruphen to stop the pain, but they only made things worse.

Had Glandular fever, was very bad actually. Dairy products feed the virus as do any bovine produce. Got Brufen from the doctor, was excellent but the best thing for relief of symptoms is 5ml of echinaceae pure root tincture in a little water taken every 2 hours. How am I supposed to drink lots of water when my throat is so swollen I can barely get the tiniest drop down my throat. It is extremely painful to swallow, there's no way I can drink water, even though I want to. Any way I can reduce the swelling?

It can enlarge your spleen as well so it's imperative we listen to doctor when he/she tells us to take it easy since over exertion in rare cases can cause the spleen to rupture. People who think you cant die from Glandular fever have no idea... maybe they should look it up on the net and find out all the secondary things you can get from this virus..... i have now had 3 blood tests and been to the doctors 6 times in 2 weeks ... its fun being in the 4% of people who get liver damage from glandular fever!

Owch! to anyone who has this I feel for you mono is hell on the bright side you are now immune to human viral leukima :) my brother had it for more than a month. Denomar you have a chronic low level mono infection it's rare but it happens I may have had this myself even tho' I never had a full blown infection - spent a whole year sleeping 12Hr per day and tired 24/7 I got a cold in my first semester of high school it finally went away.

What they don't tell you is that it can stay in your system for upto 10 years. If I overdo things or have too many late nights, my glands come up and I feel like hell like I did when I first got it.

I got it about 3 weeks after GCSE results night :-) We were passing around drinks!

I had glandular fever for bout 2 ish weeks i couldnt swallow without unbearable pain and i was makin more saliva than normal, i got a bowl and instead of tryin to take the pain i just spat into a bowl every time i had to swallow this helped loads, had swolen gland some musccle pains in my legs but the spitting really did help

I started with a sore throat this morning after a week of aching and being really tired. My sore throat hurts SO much; it feels like it's really raw and scratchy. I can't swallow anything and my eyelids keep drooping from tiredness, even though I've been asleep for like 16 hours. I've taken paracetamol but it doesn't help. I also can't eat cus my throats so painful. Do you think I could have this? And is there another way to find out than having a blood test as I have a fear of needles.

When I went to the doctors, I had a blood test and almost passed out, then later on he docotor checked on me at home as he was so worried about my glands in my throat, he might of taken me to hosp.

I had 6 blood tests, and white blood cell count took a long time to get back to normal.

I had it for around 9 months.
