Actually the later Mexican fuel injection was simpler than the old mechanical fuel injection in my opinion. For starters, you don't have 2 sets of points to have to mess with.
Oye amigo yo tengo un ultima edicion y de un dia para Otro se empezo a oir como un sonido raro igual al tuyo, en el video hay algo anormal con el matraqueo o esta en perfectas condiciones? Espero tu respuesta compa!!
@vw4x4 It is fuel injected. All mexican beetles were made this way afte 1993. You can clearly see the sensor hall. If you still don't believe, look for the 1600i specifications.
@pfuntner yep, they did since 1993 to the 2004 last edition. In 1993 they sold both versions: carburated (nothing better than that) and they introduced the fuel injected version (which, from my experience, was a complete failure).
I have my 2002 fuel injected mexican beetle (I'm from Mexico). As soon as you can, you should make it carburated. Really, just keep the alternator and the electonic ignition. The rest is just crap cause it changed from being simple to fragile and complicated. It was a failet attempt to "modernize" the beetle and they fucked up since 1993.
Yeah, look at the blue sensor under de air filter box and the ignition coil (it's an electronic transformer). This injection it's a Digifant multipoint
