  • Does one get style points for good throws in judo and sambo?

  • @7DavidKim In Judo you win the match with a throw like this, so no style points needed. In Sambo I don't know.

  • Talk about bing taken for a ride. That is one sweet throw.

  • of course many judo throws work in sambo(know your sambo history)

but how do sambo throws work for judo?

  • Very nice, I thought the right name was Khabarelli, my mistake.

  • does this moviment work when the guy is coming forward? it is a very nice move...

  • "Is this throw possible without the gi?"

I guess from an over-under grip, you can do the same move without a gi, but I'm not sure.

  • No, over under will have completely different variation of the move. Which is a lateral toss or lateral twist(a little different).

It possible without gi if you can reach your opponents short/pants and grab them. This way you will be able to have torque on the center of his body when you step close to him.

  • WOW AWESOME MOVE that was incredible thanks for sharing man post more please

  • It is called Gadavlia. This video is taken from Igor Kurinoy's "Sambo for Professionals" instructional. I highly recommend his instructional...the very best out there.

  • Is this throw possible without the gi?

  • its probably possible with front headlock but you couldnt go straight back. one would have to turn to the side like cherez grud.

  • This particular throw is more difficult, but you can do it from a Karelin bodylock.

  • Its an Sambo throw.

  • what kind of throw is this?
