Perhaps he's one of the few people, who can write with both of their hands? Or perhaps he's writing with left and drawing with the right hand. My cousin is doing so as well, but the other way round, so that she's writing with her left, but drawing with her right hand.

Only god knows, why Mr. Rickman does so.

@SeverusSnapeFan2 he IS right-handed as you can see from the photos taken when he's signing autographs, but this is light painting where the image he painted is facing him and from the cameraman's view it would be a mirror image of what he's drawn. so to make the light painting images view correctly in the audience's eyes they used a mirror image effect, but it also caused it to seem like alan's left-handed in the video.
