I am afraid that most people listening, as well as the performer himself, dont realize how good this actualy is. It seems a little light-hearted because of the blindfold, but in terms of technique, tone, musicality and hel just being in tune, this is stunning. Best wishes and do keep it up ! btw, what is your secret for being so in tune, if I may ask ? a guitar tuner perhaps, good ears i suppose ?
As I'm sure you know, the lute uses movable frets, so it is capable of being more in tune with itself than an instrument with fixed frets. I tune my open strings to a tuner or keyboard, then adjust the frets to sound good in the key that I'm going to be playing in, making the 3rds and 5ths as pure as possible by ear.
I'm going to be studying at Peabody Institute in the fall of 2009. Prior to that, I've not attended college. How about you? Thanks for the nice words.

By the way... In which context do you play lute? Just like that or do you study it somewhere?
