  • I love Black media. I saw Tyler Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and when I was beginning to enjoy it, Madea had to ruin everything. It was then did I find Black movies to be dumb-down Disney movies for adults. Recently saw "Jumping the Broom" and I had a problem with the Black side character putting down dark skinned women just to end up with a White woman. Im comforted to know that Im not the only one who wants to enjoy Black media but feels that it is not be handled and created seriously

  • This is why I love black poeple.

    /watch?v=MnWlTyZLQhQ

  • Rise of the Planet of the Apes was also about us... but a lot of people fail to realize it.

  • we need to remember where people coming from and how they living to understand why they do certain things

  • white people have this internal prejudice it's not a mystery, but the black people who usually complain about niggas are the black people who were raised correctly, from a good environment, and head to a good future. And, they always seem to be ones who forget this internal prejudice that we know is there. But, they seem to forget where most black people are coming from and what environment they live in or some forget even though they were raised in the same places and know better than anybody..

  • I don't want to generalize, but how many of you have like a lot of black friends or friends that are niggas or do you have an internal prejudice to label them as ignorant, loud, disruptive, without really taking time to get to know them. I have black friends and white friends who stereotype and generalize people who seem to act like niggas, but if they would have taken the time to get to know them will found most black are actually cool and good friends. Most black people know that............

  • I don't think anybody here looks at it from the less unfortunate black people perspective. You seem to stereotype how all black people act and react to things and you all NEVER look at it the less unfortunate black people. You write people as just being racist, or just complaining and you never really take the time to think how they actually feel or how they arrived to their reasons why they like it. You have to think of their subconscious reasons, how they act and react to situations..........

  • Maybe I don't like lavender 'peple' in my puce movies.

  • TDR do you hate all Black people or just African Americans?

  • "uhh, I don't think you've ever watched a Tyler Perry film."

  • Surprise! The large majority of people like simple plots and even simpler characters in their entertainment. You didn't notice this before?

  • Leftists pretend like they're open-minded and non-judgemental but reality tells a different story. When you go to Hollywood you see lies, propaganda, and stereotypes gallore. You see Michael Richards going off on a racist tirade. You see blacks that have no connection to reality - they're either gross stereotype (as you pointed out) or a flat out lie. Because Leftists think the world is a bunch of "classes" or groups. So they cannot understand that human beings are capable of so much more.

  • i'm sure there's white folk who don't like how their lives are portrayed on tv shows and movies, they probably don't identify with it very much

  • @RayDandy Exactly!!! only blacks you hear with this type of rheteric my thing is blacks can watch whatever movie they please. We don't need some authoritarian telling us what we should and shouldn't support, it's just entertainment at the end of the day. I see alot of people under this thread condeming Tyler Perry but yet many of them sure enough wish to be in his position. There was nothing coonery about the last film to developed "For colored Girls" powerful film.

  • @MrMalcolm900 I'd love to have Tyler Perry money and influence, but I'll NEVER sell my soul for riches. I assure you.

  • @TheDreamReborn Yeah but who's to say he sold his soul for riches? Because he makes movies you disapprove of? I don't get it!! I mean the only issue I have with a lot of his movies is they portray black men well men in general but pacifically black men as being evil, malicious, and villians with no type of moral and decency. If we wanna get deeper that's because as a child he was molested by men so this where this perspective comes from. Other than that I think his movies are pretty positive.

  • yes, silly shit with token blacks and stereotype gays.

  • @jerrydoubleu I am so tired of the flamboynt gays on TV now. I don't know how gay people expect others to respect them when they have these baffoons representing them.

  • @TheDreamReborn -- i APPPRECIATE YOUR POV. I am frankly fed up with this sort of representation of us gays...& the most awful nellys get the most money and attention, like "what the buck" on utube, Perez Hilton, Liberace, on and on and on. there are regular gay guys out there, but they are rendered invisible. I wanna pound Glee & Modern Family up a TV exec's ass.

  • @jerrydoubleu I'm so tired of Glee and Modern Family. Good when it first started but they are just pandering to the lowest denominator now.

  • First off, very good point of view about movies and TV which some people just don't get it. Whenever, I hear about any black rapper being in a movie that's a film I will not see waste my time or money on. Very few black rappers can act other than Will Smith & Queen Latifah. I haven't seen True Blood but will check it out also the Game seems like something I won't like and I'm black!

  • @TheCreativeJournal Agreed!!! I hate seeng black entertainers other than actor's portraying characters in movies, it devalues the movie in my opinion. Bad acting is a huge turn off when it comes to the experience of the movie simply choosing rappers, models and singers to portray these characters because they command a huge fan base is very disingenuous.

  • I think the only thing that becomes a problem is when we over anaylize entertainment, last time I checked blacks don't need any rules or regulations on what they should and shouldn't watch. "The Game is a stupid show that disappointed you very bad" OK and!!! whats your point? If blacks did not like it then they would not support it, That's no different from those who critize Tyler Perry works if blacks did not like it then it wouldnt be supported bottom line.

  • @MrMalcolm900 That's my problem. Blacks watch the most humiliating shows on TV and then want to turn around and cry racism when someone uses these stereotypes against them. Look at the show Girlfriends for instance. That's the brainchild of Kelsey Grammer, a white man. Is this how black women act? Not the majority, but he has just pushed this stereotype by making an entire show where he portrays this behaviour as normal.

  • @TheDreamReborn this I agree with, no argument with me here

  • @TheDreamReborn What about all the shows about white people acting retarded on tv. Are black people the only race exempt from being assessed as individuals? If you people have low self esteem and your internalized racism feels the need to justify to outlandish sentiments against yourselves. Could you please embarrass yourselves and everybody else less by doing it in the private

  • finally back to the roots

i apreciate how you exposed tyler perrys coonery and baffoonery

  • @CoNiLa2 This isn't the first time I exposed his garbage though. I may do another before the month is out.

  • BLACK PEOPLE DON'T LOVE TYLER PERRY, IT'S BLACK WOMEN..GET IT RIGHT SON.

  • @BLKRevolutionHDTV I stand corrected, but I'd also add gay black men to that mix.

  • @BLKRevolutionHDTV

I'm a black woman and I can't stand Tyler Perry. But you are correct. A lot of Black women go to church, so they love the overly Christian stuff that he puts out. I wish they would stop listening to him all together. I saw a couple of his plays and I couldn't watch the entire things.

  • @cannedhuman2000 I skimmed a play and couldn't stop my eyes from rolling. I don't get how people find anything entertaining about his product.

  • Ludicrous as the name suggests will do anything to make money, I think for him hes purely in "no strings attached" because of the jewish connection, Jewish directors incidentally producer "true grit", How ironic that people who suffer persecution would continue to perpetuate stereo types. The film is just another Jewish child trust fund movie Ivan Reitman (director), Natalie Portman,Ashton Kutcher all Jewish, thanks for the heads up, ill probably watch this film by accident lol.... Peace

  • I agree that a film can have black characters in subservient positions, but this is only whne its in a film that specifically states that it is an historic film. I see no point of making a film or series set in the past with blacks or any ethinic as a third class citizien. History is important information, it shouldn't be belittled, but hey!! there is money to be made i suppose, and it makes certain nations feel superior what a pity, but on a serious note its pure hypocrisy... Peace

  • I think you're being a little extra with the black True Blood characters being black stereotypes. Yes, they are all a mess, but EVERY character on that show is. All the supporting characters on the show are brokedown white trash in some backwoods southern town.

It wouldn't make sense to just throw in a perfectly respectable Huxtable family. The white people on that show is a mess too.

  • @Boobalopbop That's why I recanted a little in the video. My problem is that black people levitate towards these dysfunctional characters s though they're the best portrayals of black people on TV. I definitely don't expect a Huxtable type family to be thrown into that show. Black or white. It's just not that type of show.

  • Why do you say that black people are generally going nuts just because you see some black people on a messageboard complaining a fewtoken characters supposedly not getting the recognition they deserved? how did a few black people on some obscure msgboard esclipsed into the whole black population

  • Black people will find any reason to play the race card. Sometimes I think I would be a racist if I wasn't Black myself when I study the way Blacks behave sometimes.

  • Fuck Ashton Kutcher.

This is not a racial statement since I am not black or white. I cannot stand him on or off the camera that person is a pretentious moron and I actually saw him in person once here in NYC and he's an arrogant condescending prick.

  • @JinQb Ye I feel you hes a clown, I get the same vibe from him.... I haven't met him, but hes seems corny as they come, good looking with no charisma....

  • My girlfriend and I went to see For Colored Girls; for me, I didn't particularly like it, my girlfriend on the other hand, i've never seen her so angry on our way home... She told me how blatantly stereotypical the movie was. And I have to agree, Tyler Perry does have a bad habit of propetuating stereotypes...

  • @wiseassgamer My girlfriend has that movie in our Netflix queue. I've never seen it but it's a Tyler Perry film so I'll avoid it at all costs.

  • @wiseassgamer I was wrong. The movie in her Netflix queue is Precious. Another movie that I don't want to watch...

  • @TheDreamReborn dream i want you to make up to me all the times you upset me

make a video called i am embarrased of tyler perry

  • worse movie you ever saw? have you seen alone in the darK

  • @jeffrey41010 No. I thought that was video game. It probably is also. I'm not a huge movie fan. I'm more into television shows.

  • @TheDreamReborn it is a game but some german idiot made it into a movie, and almost purposly made it horrible due to some investing lupole so even if the movie does terrible he still makes money. it sucks

  • Wow, I have to agree 100% with you on that one. Its not a coincidence that blacks are always portrayed the same way in movies/TV shows. One show I particularly hate for this reason is 30 Rock. I love comedy and I love Tina Fey but I watched the show and I was shocked at the portrayal of Tracy Morgan's character as a good for nothing idiot.

  • @sry4gotmyusername There was an Eddie Murphy movie with him as a robot controlled by himself. There was one black guy in this robot who stars in a lot of movies as the typical hollywood black guy. I don't undersand how he lives with himself.

  • why are you so up and arms about some black people complaining about the lack of black characters in a tv show? Who cares if its all white cast or in a mostly white setting . Many black people will relate to the characters and the situations that they are in just like there were a lot of white people who related to the characters on fresh prince or the cosby show. I don't like the show the Game, but there are just as many shows like it with an all white cast that a lot of dumb white people watch

  • @sry4gotmyusername

To be fair, Tracy Morgan usually portrays a dim-witted character in his works.

  • @HiG33k Actually that's the main problem. Can' he get any other roles? It's a shame really. I ran into him in NY one day and he wasn't being a buffoon. Actually he was the total opposite of the characters he portrays. Why does he only portray these dumb characters? He's selling his soul and his identity for riches. Very sad.

  • @TheDreamReborn You're right, he's already sold his soul to the role of the dumb sidekick, and now casting agents won't accept him any other way. I don't think it bothers him because he's still doing it for the money, like you said. That's cool you met him though-I'm glad he's not like that in real life.

  • i agree completely. You should make a video on the word nigga/nigger. People dont understand that it has the same meaning however you say it. I had a bad habbit of saying it, but i rarley say it when it slipps out or when im describing a nigga. Black people vs niggas

  • @AquaticNinja0 I think we've beaten that topic like a dead horse on YouTube. The word itself doesn't bother me. I just think you look like an ass hole saying it. You show how little history you know when you do.

  • @AquaticNinja0 people give the word power. It's only a 6 letter'd word IT'S A WORD i dont understand why people give it so much power. if EVERYONE used it on a day to day basis it would desensitize the word and strip it of it's power but it's become a taboo and we all know why it's become like that it's a shame, im black but i dont let such trivial matters effect me. People saying "nigga" or "nigger" doesn't effect me, be smarter than that man it's a word this aint the 50's anymore homie
