  • EXCELENTE INTERPRETACION...!!! MUY BUEN MUSICO...!!!

  • i play ed drums since i was 13 this is the only song i want to play on piano

  • Can I have a note sheet, of the piano XD

  • fantastic Pianoman!

  • Cool when it picked up.

  • So beautiful!!!!

  • wow amazing was not expecting 00:55 but that made it better

  • A bit jazzed up don't you think? :)

  • Endlich mal jemand, der aus dieser kleinen hübschen Melodie was gemacht hat! Super!

  • 0:55 A lot of a version lies on how this part is done, and this version more than passes that test!

  • this is a great spin on the original. that is the true greatness of a classic that it can be made new yet not loose its original joy.... its great, to be able to do this requires great musical talent and skill. kudos

  • This version is just not right!

  • I like it

  • i lveo it so much

  • like this version way more than the other. sure the cassic was great, but this one was much much better. a change of pace always makes a song a whole lot better. it was not gay, and he did not "f"-up.

  • Kinda cool...but at 1:00 and 1:29....eeeecks.....I turned it off. Nice try...but leave a classic alone. It's a classic for a reason.

  • @Onetruecowgirl yep, sort of lost it suddenly.... yeech!

  • Sure, the original verison is special in it's own right, but this guy does have talent and made it a 21st century version.

  • he just fucked it up bad bad bad

  • this sucked why did it go fast all of a sudden. that was gay.

  • love the song just didnt like how went fast all of a sudden.but otherwise wonderful job.

  • i like music box dancer but this one is gay, more gay then elton john

  • O caba é foda !!!

  • WOW! Best rendition I've ever heard. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

  • Impressive work!

  • Catchy!

  • WHY DID THEY HAVE TO FUCK THIS UP!!!!????

  • Paul Tobey brings life into this old classic. NICE!!!!!

  • ice cream!

  • 19 people dont like the jazz part of this :(

  • I like the up beat tampo of this song.

  • wow its very upbeat but it didnt totally ruin the song. props to him!

  • Love this song. Love the inturpretation too. i really need to work on my playing lol AWESOME STUFF THO

  • Perhaps it's not for everyone, but for me Paul's version is great! Such a fun adaptation!

  • The BEST!

  • This is a song from my childhood. I love it. Thanks for posting!

  • wooooww....nice ^^

  • I think this guy took a great song and made it even better.

  • Great piece of music. AWFUL way of playing. Don't ruin the classics

  • very nice!! thank you

  • 0:00-1:00min wunderschön, ab dann nur noch Verschandelung! Was geht in den Köpfen dieser Leute vor?

  • If anyone can help, I am looking for a version that I heard on a classical radio station about 25 yrs ago done by a symphony. Not sure which orchestra though. It was the most beautiful version of Music Box Dancer I have ever heard, even better than that of Frank Mills, if you can believe that! If someone has something like that, plz reply to this comment, thx!

  • I'm looking for a version I once downloaded (and no longer available). It's sung by a woman, I think it's in German or Dutch, and it was credited to a Marion Maerz, but I don't think it's right. If anyone can help, I apprecciate it.

  • @justmiau

I got it, email me and I'll send it, just music no video

  • This was our mums favourite song 30 years ago -1979. Even though its not me playing it (although I'm sure I could if I had a piano!) I dedicate this version to her. I'm sure she would have loved this version, rolled her pants up to her knees and danced along to the middle bit! Go Carmel!

  • This one is really amazing. He starts off slow speeds up then slows it down. He really appreciates the music. Thanks for posting this.

  • I have seen 4 different performances of music box dancer played in leather pants, and this is the best.

  • i love the song!

  • I've always loved Music Box Dancer. It's always been my favourite instrumental piece of music ever.

  • turns out great!!

    almost inspiring

  • Wow!! Love it!!

  • Amazing. So beautiful in the beginning and then SO much fun!!! Totally Buffet-rocked it!!!

  • Well at first I was shocked and thought OMG what did he do to such a beautiful piece of music... then I listened again knowing what was comming and I realized he took great piece of music and interpeted in his own way just the same as a chef puts his own spin on a dish. How many meatloafs taste the same? Everyone puts their own spin on it but it is still meatloaf right? So this is still MBD but with this artist own twist, and I kind of like it .OK I'll get off my soapbox now :) Peace

  • I've always loved the original MBD but this interpretation is very catchy and overall quite good. The guy has guts even to try it and he works it out

  • TALENT

  • The guy has talent!

  • To me it shows a lack of talent when someone tries to recreate a masterpiece like this one. I am so sick of people trying to recreate someone elses work.

  • Really? To me it shows that someone just interprets the music a little differently. The beginning of this shows his appreciation for the classic piece and then HIS spin shows how the music makes HIM feel. He wants to share that with others. But to each their own.

  • not for me but each and every, guess it s great to loads of people, very inotive.actually its kind of grows on ya

  • What a shame, the original is such a beautiful piece of music.

  • I just lvoe the twist in this song! ^o^

  • Original is better, i think :/

  • I attend the same school of music as one of the violin players.

  • @jsteuernol What band is this then?

  • love the twist on a great classic. i think i'll go make some twists on the piece that i have. thanks for the inspiration

  • What a terrific arrangement of a classic!! This brings me joy!

  • What a great piece of music, any idea where I can buy it??

  • Tal vez lo encuentres en

    Maybe you'll find it in

    AMAZON

  • beautiful song!!

  • I love this song and he addes a great twist to it. I also really like the origianl way it is played and done by the O'Neill Brothers.

  • now that was just amazing, great job

  • WOW.... that was nicely done.... it put my new born to sleep... hehehehehe i can play that tune also but not like that.... very nice!

  • This is a awesome nice twist to a very good tune.

  • this song makes me feel jolly =]

  • Like what you do to the English language? You're definitely in the minority here so what do you think you're going to accomplish with your spam other than to show you don't like good music?

  • Just what I needed, just when I needed!!! What a nice pick-me-up song. I feel better now.

  • Originally, Music Box Dancer was a filler piece at the tail end of a Azz Album Mills was working on. He never meant it to be the featured piece. Adding a Jazz feel to the song only compliments the fine musician Frank Mills is.

  • Ya, you're right! It was the B side of those tiny little albums they used to sell! What were those called? 45's? Anyway, a disc-jockey played the wrong side of the album one day, and voila...the rest is history! The radio guy got calls, and it turned out to be a huge money maker for Frank! I heard he retired in Barbados. I don't know for sure, but good for him! I'm hear looking for Paul Tobey's version of Danny Boy? I heard it's posted on YouTube but I can't find it...

  • great job, this is what i would love to do with my life... make something into a piece of art...amen

  • Who is/are the musician(s)? I really liked it :)

  • Paul Tobey - Piano

    Douglas Romanow - Keyboards

Roy Styffe- Alto Sax & Flute

    Russ Boswell - Bass

Gary Craig - Drums (aka Anne Murray's drummer)

Kenin McKay, Jennifer Hedican and Lucy-Ana Gaston on Violins

    Ian Carruthers Viola

  • Great rendition of an old favorite!

  • I like both versions. These guys are just having a great jam session having fun with a tune that lends itself to such things.

  • I'd like to hear more performances from these people. I've seen 3 or 4 online here but there must be more.

  • I have loved this piece ever since I was a kid

  • I can't for the life of me understand your comments cryingnose and exxonexcuse. What do you think music is? Is it that you live to cut down those more talented than yourself?

  • There is nothing to understand (this is emotive not cognitive.) It is a matter of choice and preference. I do like this interpretation. It has nothing to do with my talent, of which you know absolutely nothing. Should be simple enough even for you.

  • It's actually a matter of insult vs. decency and not trying to impose your simplistic views of music on others. You obviously don't like it, but just because you don't doesn't mean that the music isn't good and that others who indeed love music should stop listening to suit your desires. Your talents are showing themselves. That should be simple enough even for YOU. LOL.

  • Music lovers tend to like variety in my dealings with them. You two apparently are the exceptions.

  • Yeah, I guess emotive is the right word for it. It certainly wasn't a matter of thought. It's a free internet and you can say what you want but don't be surprised when people call you out on it. When you insult an artist's work then you put your own on the chopping block as well. Put up or shut up as they say.

  • That's funny! :-)

  • What a great piece of music, any idea where I can buy it?? Perfect for a dance piece!!

  • You know... usually I despise jazz with a vengeance... But I loved this! This is one of my favourite pieces of music and that just gave it such a fun feel. Well done!

  • i aggree... that is really good. very well done

  • sounds as though the music box dancer jumped off the music box and had a little fun out on the town.. I like it. Thanks every one needs a little more fun in their life at times even a little dancer..does not take any thing away from the original which will always remain etched in many of our hearts and minds

  • COOL!

  • These musicians are defnitely talented, but in my heard the beauty of Music box dancer is its incredible simplicity. This seems to take something away from it for me, but thats just opinion.

  • I know what you mean. This version was definately unexpected. I liked it much better on the second listen.

  • M M M M M YA LA

  • nice! enjoyable!

  • this has grown to a favriot of mine. this was my moms favirot song and she died may 2006

  • Not the way I remember Frank Mills doing it, yes, I know this is not Frank Mills.

  • I think Frank would be flattered someone took it somewhere else!

  • amazing

  • When I heard this version, my initial response was WHOA. This was a song I loved when I was growing up and the jazz rendition gave it a new flair. BRAVO!!

  • Bravo on both counts. A Good rendition of a classic piece and a fun and extremely well done jazzy remix

  • awsome

  • This song is just SO awesomely beautiful,(and i love the fun re-mix) it reminds me of when i was a little girl, listening to my music box.

  • What a fun remix!!!! I love it!!

  • dang that's a serious remix right there

  • whoever these people are...They totally ruined this song

  • I agree. This song is simplistic and beautiful. It doesn't need changes like this.

  • I love it!!! What an amazing piano player! Made me want to dance. :)

  • Neat twist on an awesome classic! This guy oozes talent....

  • That kid is good, it's not Frank Mills.

  • I passed a long time to listen this musi again; only YouTube gave me this pleasure. I think it´s one of the most beautifull musics I had listen.

  • Who is the pianist?,i don't think its Frank Mills.

  • It's Paul Tobey...

  • my dad gave me the 45 of this when i was a kid

  • I'd always fall asleep to this when my mother played it for me when I was kid
