  • @juanarkantos

you are right...thos are the chords in both parts

  • make your present for guitar rig or make a lesson,

  • are you playing in a band or something??? myspace? your freaking too good!!!

awesome man!! i love watching those lick of the weeks!

  • @tgstk2

check the "hand of god" video on my youtube channel

  • are you playing in a band or something??? myspace?

  • Why aeolian scale? . . . last 3 notes were F,G,A . its more like phrygian.

  • @Iggy94sd

    no..this is A aeolian

  • @Iggy94sd

The notes of A Aeolian are: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-A

The notes come from the Relative Major scale of C Major.

  • @Iggy94sd you're thinking E Phrygian, mode of A Aeolian.

  • Do you have a day job?

  • @TheMaximac

i am a pro guitar instructor

  • I wana be able to play this at full speed by this weekend. I've never tried learning fast alternate picking and sweeping, but now I'm going to start. Thanks for these videos!

  • Hello Mr. Ziras. Can you do in your Lick of the week tutorial on any song by Yngwie Malmsteen??? His Apegios are great, aren't they?

  • @RedEvil150

i cannot do songs (copyright issues)

but i will something about arpeggios in yngwie's style

  • @tziras ok. Thanks.

  • i love you man

  • Oh My GOSH! Look At The Hair. I Was Just Taught By Jesus!

  • the 100th lick of the week!

    you rule theo!!

  • Yeeah, 100th!! Cool.. I think i'm addicted ;)

  • Very cool... by the way, nice accent. haha

  • @nataliagates

    So what?

  • @Pchychopathetic

"So what?"? Nothing, dude. It was just a comment, for god sake!

  • Gratz on lesson 100!

  • Very nice, especially at full speed. Re: legato vs. alternate picking - not that I'm technically up to you guys, I think that both techniques are valid. The best guitarists will be good at both, so that legato won't be a "cheat", but instead available for a more fluid sound or an "alternate" mode of expression where one is called for. A good hammer on or pull off can be very expressive, and a series of them can turn what would be a percussive sounding solo into molten lava.

  • omg!!! thank god i subscribed!!!

  • You are a great man. Thank you for sharing your experience. The only one teacher whom I trust.

  • awesome!!!!!!

  • awsum.... sweet jam budd... thanks..

  • Thats it..the 100th lesson from the genius. Congrats !! you are a doing a really great job. Keep going maestro....god bless

  • I think all the scales you use and licks style are metal. So can you please do Metal backingtracks? cuz. You are metal dude!

  • bro love the lick heavy and metal but.... the backing track sounded like some Hawaiian island song hehe :P

  • that high e string sounds flat

  • sir.....how do you mute the strings when you sweep and pick??? ..

    -sam.

  • @clipshift00

    with my picking hand.....

  • @tziras how???by miuting???

  • @tziras

Yes, but how!?! Are you muting the string with your palm only on the floating bridge? The fleshy part of the palm not resting on the bridge? Your unused fingers on your picking hand? The fleshy part of the picking hand thumb? How do you mute sting when descending an arpeggio (high-to-low) when no real part of the picking hand come into contact with the strings?

That's what I need real instruction on.

  • @Vercingetorix

mainly i am muting with my palm by touching the string near the bridge

  • @tziras

    Aha!!! Finally an answer.

  • @clipshift00 by simply lifting up the finger right after you play the note it mutes

  • @gabiruman

Yes, but, if you are using large amounts of gain/distortion it is almost impossible to continually lift all your fingers cleanly off all strings, especially on hi-speed sweep arpeggios. Think Loomis style sweeping which is incredibly fast, where your fingers are constantly in motion – lifting fingers cleanly is not going to work. To have no extraneous string noise, other muting strategies must be employed.

  • @clipshift00 watch the guitarist from symphony x, michael romeo

    you'll see

  • @clipshift00 its called dampening. it can be done with either the fingers on the fretboard by letting off the strings slightly,or by using the picking hand by dragging the thumb or the palm

  • Hail Tziras you are better than yngwie malmsteen...

    /The best

  • ... And congrats on the '100th Lick Of The Week'.

  • Great player.

Guitarists like him really scare me. I mean, I can play... I can basically sit in with anyone and make it work as long as they can also play (Weak-links derail me because I start thinking too-much), but this guy's like a machine. I only starting recently understanding how some players can have such a rapid and precise right-hand technique after working on it myself for a good 6-8 months (It's done wonders for my playing actually... At 40, I'm better now than I ever was).

  • Great lesson Theodore!

Your guitar plays better than mine.

Congratulations on your 100th LOTW. I hope for 100 more to come.

  • U missed a phone call at 3:15 ;D

Gratz on your 100th lick of the Week Theodore! Ur awesome :D

  • congrats on the 100th lesson

  • 100, congratulations!!

  • Question on the lick: Are you not tempted at playing more legato than pure alternate while increasing speed?

Here I think I'll continue cheating .... bad me ^^

  • @BozKiller

    no...i prefer to pick everything

  • @BozKiller most people use legato mostly because it's kinda easier than picking all the notes... but well legato sounds different than picking.... well we all choose the way we want to use it.... i like better picking everything too :)

  • @mohokios : Cheers ;) So here, yes, legato is cheating :) Haha...

OK then I'll go back practicing ^^

  • One of my favourite licks right now.

  • pw pw thodori den mporeis na paikseis arga etsi ?? :)) xaxa - eisai foveros - keep up the good work

  • its funny how you speak even faster as you increase the metronome!!! LOL you know im big fan, and this is the best sweep picking lesson you ever uploaded

  • grats for ur 100th LICK OF THE WEEK!

  • mpravo thodori na ta xiliaseis!!!

  • ur awesome i learned so much from you :D

  • realy nice guitar tbh :D ya disigned by yourself?

  • @TheQuwquw

no...the guy from Verve Guitars did the designing

i just gave him some specs....

  • @TheQuwquw It kind of looks like the Nuno Bettencourt Washburn

  • quite enjoyable! Unlike most people who are unreal at guitar your nice about it! No arrogance and you show everything very well and very clearly!

  • i can hold 150 bpm but at 160 im failing=S

  • Yeah, 100th Lick of the Week!!!!

    Congrats Theodore!!!

  • @BozKiller

thank you very much for your support

  • @tziras

    hails master mind!!!

  • Revolutionairy! he doesn't use vibrato on the last note! :D

  • This man made a deal with the devil. It is the only thing that would explain his speed! lol

  • May I know what does lick mean here ?

  • @realjuvelive A lick is a stock pattern or phrase, consisting of a short series of notes that is used in solos and melodic lines.

  • at the Aminor and Gmajor sweep part, you better could do this: Aminor Gmajor Fmajor and then Emajor

    Try that

  • Eh, Bee, See, Dee, Eeh en Z. Triplets dis is da patehrn. You rock man! :)

  • You should also post a link to Verve guitars.

  • A, B, C, D, E, F, and Z?

  • @Loathera for Ziras.

  • @Loathera G...

  • @Loathera g

  • @Loathera

    Z=G

  • @Loathera He plays so fast he went right from F to Z.

  • i have a question: how can i get that speed?

  • @JameXSlipknot i have an answer: practise!

  • @sk8erboirobrob hahaha yes i know it but my problem is when i pick a string and then inmediately the next string, i have to do some exercise?

  • @JameXSlipknot

    yes....do it slowly

  • @JameXSlipknot Any exercise will work, just play slow and clean (important!) and keep doing it until you feel more comfortable at higher speeds.

  • @JameXSlipknot

    just practice...

  • Man i love your gear, your tone is just great. Needless to say your playing is awesome too.

  • Tziras' skills blow Synyster gates out of the Water!!!

  • how do I open the tab? I downloaded it and it comes up as a winrar file, I have tuxguitar but where would I extract it to?

  • @monkeyskins666 you have to convert the file. look for a rar extractor in google. you could download one for free

  • @monkeyskins666

    you must unzip it....

  • @tziras Im not very good with computer talk, is there like a guitarpro file of it I can have or can you explain what you mean. unzip it and then what do I do I'm not sure where I save it to on tuxguitar I usually just open guitarpro files with tuxguitar. sorry im not very good with computer stuff but if you have A guitarpro file of it i would really appreciate a link to it!

  • @monkeyskins666

    it is simple...

open the zip file with winzip

and then open the pdf with acrobat reader

  • @tziras ok thankyou!

  • Great !! Thanks for taking the time to post the lessons.

  • thanks again, you've helped me a lot and i'm very interested in the sweep picking technique.

P.D: i love your guitar XD

  • muchas muchas gracias por la leccion, justo necesitaba algo para praticar sweep picking con alternate picking, como en una cancion de alejandro silva!!

    saludos :D

  • i must say, i simply love watching you play. it just seems so smooth and effortless. your lessons have not only helped increase my technique vocabulary, but also my entire playing style. great lesson.
