  • nice vid! showed me everything I wanted to know.

  • you should use heavier oil, 3 in 1 is too thin for a cutting oil

  • Nice job

  • Thanks mate,,,

  • hey man thanks for this vid i never knew how to work the tap n die and really helped me out :) great work

  • Serious and not chillaxed,I think for him bein his age he's got a lot goin on for em here

  • Lmao lube this guy has a sense of humour :) that's kool cuz other peoples video I seen are so seriou

  • I film a lot and have a made a few short films and movies. Smallengineermaster1- You need to posistion your camera beter and plan the whole vid and scenes before shooting. Stop the camera and make scenes so it doesn't look so choppy and you end up rushing it because your juggling the camera while your trying to teach. We all know how easy it is to drop small tools and screws! Still a good bit of info. Thanks for sharing you knowladge.

  • Actually those are "chasers" and not proper dies. A proper die has a split in it. Those are really used for clearing damaged threads on bolts. ( what do i know? Only 35 years of being an engineer! )

  • Thanks for your help. Good instruction.

  • too erratic. gotta slow down and take your time, plan the video out.

  • Thanks for teaching me how to tap and die.

  • i like the beer all over lol

  • those "thicker guys" you referred to are actually unified national coarse(UNC) threads and the smaller ones are unified national fine(UNF) threads

  • your the man !

  • you checked the tread pitch but what about the Diametre of the the bolt? i mean if that bolt was smaller with same threads would you still us the same die bit?

  • do you have to match the threads whether its fine or course?? or its the gauge sufficient?

    thanks

  • @jambe1234567 Fine means its close together and course means it farther away. So therefor the distance is different from each other so you have to use different type.

  • Im lookin' for a tap and die and some wd40

  • why don't you just buy a new screw

  • Thanks, very useful

  • Thank you very much, quite helpful

  • Do you know how to thred the inside of a pipe or barrel? Please help. I'm trying to thred my Ruger mark 2.

  • @MrDjC5 Yeah you use the thing that looks like a bolt but has groves to lets the shaving get out. Its almost the same concept as the video. Just make sure you line it all up correctly.

  • @MrDjC5 You're best bet is a reputable gunsmith. Your local firearms dealer would be happy to direct you to one.

  • Nice manicure. BTW its a bolt not a screw.

  • Do you like French fried potaters.mmmmhum!

  • It's a bolt, not a screw! It does have screw threads. Doh,.

At least you used a cutting fluid and basically proper technic.

Next time, don't drop your tools while filming, ROFLMAO.
