  • should never reuse the lines or old coils . flushing does not guanantee

  • @twittyk78 I agree as far as coils go, but I do believe line sets are a different issue. That would greatly depend on length and the way they are run.

  • @ talyn875, greetings from South Texas. Cool video, always a pleasure to watch other techs. perform out on the job. Couple of questions though, was that a heat pump you replaced or did it have electric heat? I noticed a bi- flow drier and was curious that's all. Also what else besides dry nitrogen did you use to flush the system? Manufacturers always recommend checking the Superheat when the system is within 5 degrees higher of setpoint. Is there a certain tool that will let you do it at higher

  • @youngbeechnut78 thanks, man. It was a heat pump. Besides nitrogen I used Pro flush to remove the residual material in the line. I esed a slide rule to calculate the proper superheat, which has always echoed the guidelines in the Goodman manufacturers instructions. High or low humidity can play a factor in the calculation.

  • We used to terminate the secondary drain out through the eve (when possible) and instruct the customer that if they saw water draining to call for service.

  • @yrtuag yeah, I try to take one anywhere I can. On this particular unit all the possible terminations were uphill. I hate that because if it ever has a problem, nobody knows and I have to end up vacuuming water out.

  • Great video, What'swith the Goodman bashing-just kidding I do goodman and rheum. Ur install looks tight, u do great work keep it up btw what part of the country r u in?

  • @atcherservice1 thanks, I am in coastal North Carolina. Its funny> I hear a lot of people laying into Goodman on here, but Goodman is the cheap alternative to better brands. I lot depends on the dude putting it in. The Trane in this video lost two compressors because the last guy didn't realize there was acid in the refrigeration.
