maravillosos los videos de El mesias subidos por codonauta, es la primera vez que los veo así en seguidilla, gracias por compartirlos con los que nos gusta la música clásica.
The duetto of Chance and Hadley really tells a story... What do you prefer if you compare a fully developed male voice with a legitimate head register and a voice of a male falsettist that is completely falsified in its whole range?
@LCCzr Actually, I prefer Chance voice here, because Hadley sings in a too operistic style for a sacral composition. As the bass, Robert Lloyd. If it was an Opera, excellent, but it is an Oratorio, or something like.
For me, the 2 only problems of this recording of Messiah is the bass and the tenor, who sing as it was an opera.
As a Latina, it took me many long years, to learn to appreciate this composition.
I did like classical music, but this is the Highest of classical musics. This was the master piece of Handel, his initiation, before he was allowed to take the title of Master by his peers.
Quoting another compser, Jesu, is indeed, the "joy of men's desiring." Jesu who brushed aside the pharasaic law of "a n eye for an eye"- but taught us, "Forgiveness'" AND Love and Compassion.
Goodness, I was not paying to this video when Micheal came on and I came back looking for an amazing alto and this guy is there! Fantastic! Very appealing voice, I must say!
Awesome!! Jerry Hines was the best I ever heard live sing this particular piece and he also sang it with his huge voice at this tempo and even a bit more cleanly. Gwynn Howell and Sam Ramey were also excellent.
It,s a fantastic, clear, brilliant performance, thank you!

This seems just a tad too slow and plodding. Although the soloist has a marvellous voice.
