guy was louis armstrongs favourite orch. he always maintained that for dancing and listening guy was the best. louis must have known somthing about music and dancing
Hello Grzegorz - this vid - the music and the artwork - are all fantastic. The women are real beauties! The foxtrot beat is super great - even rhytm - for dancing! I didn't expect this band to be so classy! Thanks a million!
Hadn't heard the Lombardo version of this great song until now: marvelous! Those monocled gals sure are extraordinary -- the single cheater gives them that Arliss touch.
So very elegant! Esp the girl with purple hair @1:14, my dream image of a most extraordinary gal. And what a cheerful contrast with your magnifique vid re Sept.1, 1939. Wish I could believe that everything was indeed wonderful again on Sept. 2.
@barbcard There's certain sadness in this music - the tune has that "blue prelude"'s tone. Perhap[s it's the extremely "refined refinement" of the arrangement and the sophisticated style of that band, makes it somewhat sad. That's why I felt, it won't hurt after a rather "maestoso" tone of the previous clip's.
the simplicity and sophistication of the lombardo touch, and the elegance of sophistication go hand in hand ..... a marriage of "swell" and "divine"...thank you. you do it so well.
I have a lot of 30's music, and I've got to say this is one of my favourite songs of all. Thanks for posting.

A quite atypical Lombardo for 1931; I could never have described the elegance of this arrangement than bill3murr did.

@bill3murr Indeed, Lombardo's music can't be described more accurately - and in more SOPHISTICATERD WAY - as you did it. Thank you!
