Addiction to drugs is a horrible disease. I 've loved Whitney's music from the very beginning and will always be her fan. All I can do is send out positive energy for her to be well. I blame the drugs, not age or constant performances because Celine, Mariah and Whitney had about the same performance numbers. I will say that Mariah has lost her voice as well, not all the way gone but most of it. In Mariahs case i will say overuse of the "whistle" note fucked up her voice. But thats my opinion

Only time age comes in is when singers have spent years abusing or over-using it, while not eating right and getting proper rest. I know people who are in their sixties and seventies still belting very well. Look at the celebrities who are well over sixty and still singing GREAT! Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, just to name a few!

Please, it's not her age. Sadly, Whitney Houston did not look after her voice. She was given an amazing gift, every live performance in the 1980s and a lot of 1990s was near perfection. I was a huge fan of her voice, and I still wish her well. Addiction is a horrible nasty illness.

What makes me sad is that everyone was shocked that she is dead but really where were her true friends in life trying to help her get over her addiction. In life when your down and out people like to kick you even more. We live in a world of no compassion or forgiveness for those in need of help. Addiction to drugs is a horrible disease. I 've loved Whitney's music from the very beginning and will always be her fan. All I can do is send out positive energy for her to be well. As for the fans that boo and hiss at her; understand she has a disease/addiction. The very positive thing is that she continues to TRY. @EnglishAB1 i have to disagree. It reallt isnt age because Whitney is just a couple years older than Celine, but Celine sounds AMAZING! Maybe even better than she sounded in the 90s. I blame the drugs, not age or constant performances because Celine, Mariah and Whitney had about the same performance numbers. I will say that Mariah has lost her voice as well, not all the way gone but most of it. In Mariahs case i will say overuse of the "whistle" note fucked up her voice. But thats my opinion

@mannycampas I so agree with you! Whitney Houston is a young woman and a lot of singers voice reach their prime around their forties! Only time age comes in is when singers have spent years abusing or over-using it, while not eating right and getting proper rest. I know people who are in their sixties and seventies still belting very well. Look at the celebrities who are well over sixty and still singing GREAT! Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Patti Labelle, Gladys Knight, just to name a few!

@patrick123900 She is only 46 or 47 years old... NOT old... Female opera singers sing until mid-60s. Shirley Bassey STILL sings at over 70. Barbra Striesand still sounds great at 65. Please, it's not her age. Sadly, Whitney Houston did not look after her voice. She was given an amazing gift, every live performance in the 1980s and a lot of 1990s was near perfection. I was a huge fan of her voice, and I still wish her well. Addiction is a horrible nasty illness.
