@Technotrancefreak no dont, you'll see maybe a 5-10% increase, and that just isnt enough to justify the extra 100 dollars, the next step up to me would be two gtx 580's (extremely overpriced imo), get 2 hd 6950's or wait until December or January for the hd7000 series
@Technotrancefreak it hasnt been released yet, but if its like past releases, it should get 20-30% increase imo, Also rumors say that the cayman architecture is still being used but the die size has been shrunk from 40nm to 28 nm. If you want to wait its fine, but if you do get hd 6950's you wont regret it.
@DarkRage6969 Yeah, waiting for the HD 7XXX series is his best option, since it's pretty much guaranteed the HD 7970 will be much faster than the gtx 580 and will cost the same, which will make nvidia reduce the gtx 580's price as a result, and maybe alot other graphics cards.
@Technotrancefreak The hd 6950 has great scaling of around 90% for most games and sometimes can reach almost 100% for games like bfbc2 xD. For crossfire, i recommend the 2gb version, especially for high resolutions as a 1gb card will be bottle necked by the vram. As for unlocking, sadly all cards produced after around march 2011 have their shaders laser locked :(
