@havingfunhere they can respond in 1 minute and 30 seconds. or it can be 1 minute and 10 seconds for arrival. depends what the ems call is. time flys if it was a serious case. you wouldnt even feel like it was 2 minutes cuz of the panicking.
@TomTheGrom226 first of all good for u being a fireman i myself im to a fireman. i was making a comment to the people that where saying nyfd. so your comment makes no sense what so ever
@havingfunhere like someone else said, they are certified First Responders which is months of training less then EMT-B.Theres a Bus enroute already and this call was more than likely not life threatening.
There's plenty of stories of FDNY going on "Slow Dispatch" or w/e they call it. Basically they take their time, drive a little slower, take a wrong turn maybe go the longer way, to wait for the Ambulance to get their before them so that they don't have to sit around at the scene and do nothing
i agree with some of these people NYFD is the busiest fire department in the world and even if they are not moving fast dont mean any thing some departments have runs like no running in the bay area's i should no i voulnteered 2 years with harrison township fire department in Ashville,Ohio and we had a rule no running in the bay area so they might follow the same rules there as we did you never know
@drumx7 Thats true they maybe be busy but, its still good to move with a purpose every call. Not saying they doing anything wrong. Just when you can be watched by the public you should atleast pick it up alittle
@havingfunhere It's probably not a serious ems call. It might be a non-injury lift assist or something like that. They have enough time. Think about volunteers. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the firefighters to get to station, get the trucks out, and arrive on scene. These guys can probably get anywhere in there area in about 5 min. And plus, FDNY has restrictions on rushing like no running in the garage.
@drumx7 I read someplace, I think it's fire station #9 which is LAFD, currently has the busiest fire station in the country. Not to take anything away from the FDNY Not sure just how many more calls though.
@havingfunhere first of all...you have no idea what the call is,you obviously are not any kind of emt or paramedic based on your condescending comment....This is most likely a very minor call such as a fall off a chair or a lifting assistance-FDNY trucks are only first response units which means that there is always an ambulance on its way. Do a little research before you bash on response times or maybe join an ambulance squad, you may learn something
Yeah, I agree, FDNY is a much larger department that gets many more fires and faces often more extreme circumstances... But that's no excuse to act like you don't give a sh*t when a call comes in.
