i guess this new bill is mostly because of the reason that the administration does not want to face any charges- and also wanted to legitimize what they did at gitmo- thats all (since almost all at guantanamo bay were later declared innocent). i hope its not for any "future power grab. maybe tahts why they are calling it temporary powers. (but not to forget- it will be devastating if its used for any action in future- i just hope its only to clear up what they did in past).
