I'm a life long devout Catholic and I have no problem whatsoever with the Holy father showing respect for people of faith, even if it is another faith.
He is the Vicar of Christ and the Successor of St. Peter and as such he has every reason to be magnanimous in displaying the love and grace of God available to us all.
May all faithful people everywhere come home to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the only Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I think you are right in your definition. I called it universalism but what it might better be is ecumenicism (across many religions). I know that the Roman Catholic Church embraces many non-Christian religions and this is apostasy (according to the Bible). I do not see the Catholic Church preaching salvation by or through Christ alone and this is a problem for anyone who claims to love Jesus.
There is no problem here for Catholics because they are universalists. The problem is for Bible believing Christians. A Christian cannot even step foot in a Mosque let alone take his/her shoes off for a false god or religion. Christ does not share respect with any false Gods. I'm a life long devout Catholic and I have no problem whatsoever with the Holy father showing respect for people of faith, even if it is another faith.
He is the Vicar of Christ and the Successor of St. Peter and as such he has every reason to be magnanimous in displaying the love and grace of God available to us all.
May all faithful people everywhere come home to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, the only Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I think you are right in your definition. I called it universalism but what it might better be is ecumenicism (across many religions). I know that the Roman Catholic Church embraces many non-Christian religions and this is apostasy (according to the Bible). I do not see the Catholic Church preaching salvation by or through Christ alone and this is a problem for anyone who claims to love Jesus.

There is no problem here for Catholics because they are universalists. The problem is for Bible believing Christians. A Christian cannot even step foot in a Mosque let alone take his/her shoes off for a false god or religion. Christ does not share respect with any false Gods. You seem to think that religion is a virtue, no, it is not. It is a form of social control that has caused ethnicities who are near mirror images of one another (Jews and Muslims) to annihilate each other. Divinity is a virtue. Peace is not accomplished through the alliance of two "religions" against a perceived evil, it is achieved through the elimination of taboos and norms that isolate the said religions
