People who can't park their car shouldn't have a license. Being allowed to drive a car also means knowing how to handle it. If you can't park a car you can't handle a car and thus you shouldn't have a license, the end.
Hahaha speaking of this, I saw a guy across the road who was parking using Park Assist and we were in front of wal-mart, so there's a bit of a crowd. He honks the horn and holds his hands up out of window and did the parallel all perfect and people were clapping thinking it was magic, lmao.
it costs more- duh, but if you live somewhere like downtown areas, it's well worth it. if you can parallel park all day perfectly, then it's not for you. but many people can't. it's not for everyone. it's all based on what you need.
I have a identical feature in my VW Passat that VW calls it "Park Assist". It works great and it's a nice and not expensive option to have. I hardly use it though.
I agree, but i don't think having an automated way of doing it while you concentrate on other things is a bad thing. I doubt this will have any effect on the way they handle license. It's just a luxury like ABS or an automatic transmision
But you see, all of those do have effect on peoples driving skills. And while you are driving your concentration is not meant to be "somewhere else". Thats why crashes happen. No, not accidents, crashes. Cell hpones, make up and the list goes on and on. And not that many are really capable of controlling their vehicle as good as they think.
I agree with you. ABS, traction control, and all those goodies are to help reduce accidents. knowing how to parallel park is one of the requirements for obtaining a drivers license. if you dont know how to do that then thats just frightening. im glad to see an american company with features like this though. good job ford

Driving skills comes along with how long you've been driving. It's actually honed by doing it often. It's a good feature. =)

Anyone who is incapable of parallel parking themselves should not be given a license.
