Holy cow man.... that wa more like a .12 guage! U telling my that was the cameras shity audio? Cuz that was some big bore lookin recoil too! Tell me it wasn't a .223/5.56N
@imiritu There expensive man between 1200 and 1800 depending on what and were you buy new vs used and accessories involved. Your better off buying and ar15 IMO.
@mezz0italiano no, tracers are not meant to starting a fire. they are not so hot enough to burn a green grass like in the video. note also the wet soil reduce the chance lit a fire.
its far more easy for a a litted cig to cause a fire rather than tracer bullet.
Unless you mention about "Incendiary bullet" which is different from tracers :)
@beethz yes, but in a squad situation it can help direct your squads fire onto a specific target.
in a defensive situation or when using heavy weapons, sometimes you can't look down the sight because of your firing position or they're useless in the dark, traces can show you where your rounds are going so you can direct fire on target.
@beethz theyre sometimes used during night time operations so if the squad leader is shooting at a target and the rest of his squad has no clue where to shoot at they can see his tracer fire
comparable ARs cost the same as the stg (1300 for a basic RIS fitted AR from bushmaster, colt, etc...) The new STG E-4 costs more (1600 basic), but has much improved ergonomics over previous models, can use AR mags, and carries far fewer reliability concerns, and I want one.
anyone else see the ricochet at:10? My buddy was doing the same thing shooting at a hillside with his mauser one day and they were actually ricocheting over the hill and hitting someones house about 800 yards away.. Gotta be careful doing that.
@cmazzac ya tracers can be a real eye opener. i've seen alot of people shooting tracers into water and about 90% of the rounds bounce off the surface and go flying over the backstop.
Spanky00Cheeks (4 months ago) Show Hide 0 Marked as spam Reply | Spam lol I dont imagine a lefty can shoot one of those] actually a left handed person can shoot one you have to purchase a left handed bolt and move the cover over to the right side i have a stg 556 and i am a left handed shooter
I now know that for most bullpups you either need to buy a separate part that protects one exit port and forces the shells out the other, or you can just open her up and orient the same part one way or the other to achieve the same results. Thanks for the message none the less!
@peanut2787 I wondered how they were legally able to produce this rifle. regardless, I want one, and was pissed that the steyr became so expensive. been seeing lots of these at houston gun shows for pretty cheap.
I just jizzed in my pants...... I handled one today and they are NICEE!!!! They are very confortable and don't move around when aiming. The only 2 bad things is they dont take ar mags and cost as much as 2 ar's
anything with a picatinny rail. First steyr had a 1.5x scope that was part of the reciever aka not interchangeable. Newer variants from A2 onwards had a picatinny rail for sights.
You can get one. You just have to pay a tax pass a background check and have the cheif leo sign off on it.. But since the registry was closed a while back you can only buy one made up to a certain date. Which makes the supply low and the price very high.
@junknut1 actully they are they are considered a incedinary device and it is illegal to own them for all you ppl that dont belive me go ask your local DA or gun shop owner they will tell you the reason there illegal is they can start fires well what do you think the round is doing ITs burning at a high temp. but at mechine gun shoots it is not illegal i mean LEGAL SHOOTS ARRANGED BY the local gun clubs and that gun is an aug bullpup not a stg 556 stg was a german model and the 556 is swiss arms!
I think if you shoot a bunch of tracers and let the barrel sit, its not good, because it leaves some incendiary material in the barrel. Thats what I read anyway, so I would shoot a couple standard rounds afterwards just to blast that out of the barrel. Wouldnt hurt.
why does this video leads me to a 12 year old call of duty fanboy with a lego gun?

Does anyone know for sure if the design was used under license?
SniperShea 2 years ago
I've read two things on this subject , both of which im too lazy to try and confirm myself.
1.The AUG patent expired in the early 90s.
2. The STG-556 was just different enough to squeeze by without MSAR getting the crap sued out of them.
Don't know if either is true but that's what i've read.

They can be modified to take AR mags but lets face it they are easier mags to use.
They may cost more but they are better quality. They have a quick change barrel, sight, quick bolt button and a 42rd mag that actually works.

Tracers are designed to light at about 100
yards from the muzzle- you will just get the
standard copper and burned powder fouling from such ammo when you use it. Just clean
as usual with the cleaning solvents now avai-
lable and brush it out and oil it after shoot-
ing and be happy!
junknut1 3 years ago 10
@junknut1 It depends on the tracers. I've noted significantly more build up and debris in 5.56mm weapons when using trace.
