  • There are a few of us from America who also want the US soldiers to leave Okinawa and the rest of Japan (and the rest of the world). I can say I voted for a presidential candidate who's position was to leave there, and won't vote for anyone who says otherwise. Still, it's just something no one in America knows anything about. Everyone here is completely unaware of our foreign oppression, it's quite sad. The US has come full circle and is now exactly what our founders fought against.

  • Nice videos man, I would respect the Japanese people who want the US military out. I know why we're there but Japan is no longer a military threat (which is why we occupied them). Also, we weren't the only ones occupying them. The entire island was divided up among the Allied forces. US just stayed the longest lol.

  • There is so much I want to say but, I'll stay out of this one. You just will never win a argument such as thing one.

  • Shouldnt even be any american bases in japan..

  • who is sleeping on the sofa behind you? next time let ur wife sleep on.

Its good to voice ur opinion in the face of criticism people need to speak out.

  • as for my opinion i have to agree with us leaving even if i don't agree with every one of you're points, sadly given the military value of our bases in Okinawa i don't think we would give them up so easily also for a pretty important fact which may give some more opinions on the subject google treaty of san francisco (the official peace treaty between the allied powers and japan in 1951) as it has some interesting clauses that are still in place today 61 years later.

  • One place *I* think we should get out of is Germany.

We should always keep embassies though

  • Well if Iran ever struck Japan with weapons, They would not ONLY be killing Americans but also Japanese as well as muslim soldiers

  • i don't think the usa should be there any more i don't think they should have ever been there

it's a waste of money any way and the way the usa is going we can't be doing that >_<'

  • Also 1 point is that Japan is not allowed to have an army of their own. They have defence forces but in a real war they have so few people, they would absolutely lose to anybody. USA needs to get out and let Japan have it's army.

  • i think the biggest issue here, even beyond assholish behaviors and everything, there is the SOVEREIGNTY problem. In our current world, it is a direct attack on japan, and yes, the us won the war, but it doesnt give them any right to be here, as a matter of fact, they are not in germany O_O

  • Personally I think the main argument for US bases in Japan is that Japan will become a target of China, the same way that Taiwan is, without a strong partner on the front lines.

  • I wonder why Japan allows the servicemen to roam off base.

  • @BobLeKatt What I mean is that Japan could confine the servicemen to the bases, except when official business requires them to be off base.

  • Japans a joke a country drops 2 nukes and murders millions of your people and in reward they have troops on your land who are above the law lol. japan is seen as a joke to most people outside the west.

  • wow i think youre way off on a lot of your arguments.

i know we didnt win ww2 all by ourselves but against the japanese especially, we fought the brunt of it.

also cuba and vietnam were not wars and the enemy never set foot on our soil.

finally, we are in japan to protect them from china and n. korea as well as to have our troops closer to respond to other threats to america.

  • @marine6 How was the Vietnam war not a war?...

  • @yasashii89

it was never a declared war by congress.

it was classified as a conflict or police action.

between 1 - 3 million vietnamese were killed and 58 thousand americans were killed.

also in regards to the ''bay of pigs'' in cuba which TheJapanChannelDcom also mistakenly called a war, was fought by cuban exiles that were recruited by the cia.

    four u.s. pilots were killed.

  • @marine6 Propaganda is a bitch.

    Poor Americans

  • @marine6 first off you are right about the fight against japan we did fight alot of the war with them however the Chinese at the time fought the longest and hardest not to mention we did have lots of help towed the end. second i don't no much about the Cuban conflict but the Vietnam war was most definitely a war we may not have fought on our turf but the same can be said for most of our wars. and lastly the Okinawan navel and air force bases are in fact our spearhead in the pacific.

  • @marine6 Youre in every country for your own good. Nice try yank.

  • Another great video! You always have great points and I agree :) I think our time there has run its course. It's so very unfortunate that a few military people--who are supposed to be the bravest, most honorable and respected people in US society, or any society, for what they sacrifice for us--do such horrible things and make the rest of those good people look bad.

  • @HippyGoat

Indeed.. but it is a tiny percentage who do that bad stuff..

if you read the comments on these pages from US service people, you will feel better..

you will see most of them think the bad behavior is unacceptable too..

  • ok umm a off topic question now i was paying attention to the entire video you and what you were saying but towards the very end..... was there someone in the background?

  • down to usa base in darwin

  • So while there are some Americans who do bad things while stationed in Japan that make the rest of us look bad, or Americans back in the States who post ignorant comments on youtube, I think most American service members consider the Japanese to be our friends and we would do whatever it took to help them out if there were another disaster.

  • I was not yet stationed in Japan for Operation Tomodachi, but I think that the U.S. Navy provided a lot of help (along with other countries) to Japan, which is shown by the highest approval ratings that Japan has for the United States since the 1970's.

I am greatful to be stationed in Japan, and am very sad when I read stories about Americans committing crimes here. Japan is a great place to live and I try to be a humble guest. I wish everyone stationed in Japan would watch your videos.

  • I don't understand 2 things:

Why are american bases in japan? i dont think the "war" argument is even valid

Why do Japanese people feel they need the US to protect them?! That sounds like the opposite of the japanese society.

  • I think we should allow our allies to have bases in America. I believe we should have a base in Japan, where the base is doesn't matter but just a base for moving cargo and whatnot. Military flights make stops on our airbases in other countries to fuel up etc. But we should also give that right to everyone else, including the Japanese in our own country.

  • I'm an American. I am ashamed at what the soldiers do there. I wish "those" type of people would get put back here and kicked out of the Military.

  • I think by now that they should take the base out of Japan, but the reason why we Americans did that to Japan in the first place was because they were dangerous. Thanks for the video though!

  • I love to see this comments lol..

  • the bases need to provide some quality prostitutes to the soldiers

army trained rednecks are like the elite of the redneck world

  • The American fascist military empire occupies 165 countries!!!

Their foreign policy is based on oppression and coercion.

But as long as there are free people left on this planet, the American empire will NEVER rule us all. Peace to the world. Death to America!

  • I don't know much of what to say but I have to say I completely agree about the whole fact that Japan belongs to Japan. And America belongs to America. I feel so bad that Japan's own people don't want to have anything to do because our forces are over there. I was going to say something worse but I bit my tongue. I feel that America show not occupy ANY place just because of money or the bull crap excuse about the war. This is my opinion. You can like it if you want or not. I don't care.

  • hint hint nudge nudge

  • If they don't want our bases, then we had to make sure that Japan doesn't start acting aggressively again and should not start wars to begin with. I don't really trust japan still because most of it's people in Japan doesn't know about the war crimes committed by the Japanese Army in Asia and in the Pacific. Also the bases in Japan is also a supply route to South Korea because U.S. troops are still there as part of a 60 year long period of ceasefire agreement.

  • If the US people behaved to Japanese standards, that wouldn't be a problem

  • I spent alot of time at Japanese orphanages during my 14 yrs stationed in Japan. I also met alot of people demonstrating against our carrier during port visits to Otaru and other places. When I approached the protesters and asked them if they would like a tour of the carrier, everyone of them threw those signs in the back of the (tunuki) truck and followed me for a personal tour. I later found out they were hired to protest, so its not always what it seems.

  • I agree with most of what you say but look at the benefits as well. While we should elminate of consolidate some of our bases it is fairly essential to maintain a naval presence in the Asian theatre of operations. Im can say for sure the Japanese people were very grateful for the assistance during the relief operations after the horrific tsunami and earth quake. Also the news never shows the many orphanges we sponsor and visit. They dont show the charity work we do in all countries.

  • I'm with you 100% in regard to moving the U.S. military out of Japan COMPLETLY. I vote I pay taxes and I encourage others to do the same. Still nothing changes, it saddens me greatly that everyone talks about change on Capitol Hill yet nothing actually changes. Same useless war (we re-name it every 5 years or so) same stagnant economy (education and productivity always less important than Wall Street profits) same 1% of America controlling 90% of all wealth here in America.

  • hey have you ever talked about whaleing in Japan if not you should, there are alot of pissed off Americans about that topic. I wanna hear what you would say about it

  • GOD DAMN!!! this guy roasted USA no disrespect but I knew they lost nam but when he said Cuba kicked their ass and they had to get the fuck out I busted my ass ROTFL but seriously no disrespect. I agree that the American bases should leave though I think Japan can scratch there own ass I mean what do we have to worry about we never shot a bullet at anyone in 65 years unless....NORTH KOREA!!!! oh Japan might be strong enough to stop those guys anyways.

  • I agree with this completely. If we had someone occupying us for any amount of time....people would be SO SO angry. Maybe it's a good thing we spend so much on defense....considering we keep pissing the rest of the world off. That was a joke....sorry. I really think it's ridiculous of us. But I just thought I'd try to lighten the feeling a little.

  • Americans are children.

  • I not sure I agree with your logic. In order for Cubans or Vietnamese to control the U.S. like you are describing they would have to invade America and defeat it there... cuz that is what the U.S. did to Japan and they only did that after being attacked by Japan which is what caused the war against them in the first place. Also wasn't Japan occupying whomever they defeated before all that happened? If the shoe was on the other foot would US not be under Japanese control if Japan had won instead?

  • I spent over a month in Okinawa, and I got to say what I seen from all military personal is that they have 0 respect for Okinawa. Hopefully I got to say that when the treaty ends I would blame them for kicking the basses off and never wanting Americans to come there again. But there's a bright side. I was there because of an exchange, to show them that not all Americans are like this. I miss Okinawa );

  • The US that is.

  • I agree with you 100% I do love my country, But there are some stupid people here.

  • I'm not a Japanese citizen, but the US have bases in my country too.

I have to say the majority of US marines we encounter behave absolutely inappropriate. Last time I witnessed two of them throwing money at a cashier in a fast food establishment and insulting her.

Now just imagine under what atrocities the poor people in Japan have to live. The rape and murder of Japanese children surely is the peak of a much broader scale here.

The US should remove ALL BASSES throughout the world immediately!

  • @megatroll .... i have to disagree. yes there are some really bad people in the US military, but there are also alot of very good people in the US military who would stop any abusive behavior toward a foreign citizen the second it started. i dont want to start a big "the US is great" argument, but having no US bases in certain countries would make those countries targets to foreign attacks and higher crime rates due to there not being a 'super power' looking over their shoulder.

  • @yamomotoable

Firstly, the US are not a "super power".

    This term is practically non-existent.

Secondly, the US presence in foreign countries is a simple measure of colonialism and maintaining military world dominance. The Nazis did exactly the same.

Thirdly, on a contrary to your statement, US presence in foreign countries actually does the exact opposite. It enrages local population and feeds to radicalism, while at the same time makes it a target for potential attacks.

    USA = Fascist empire

  • @megatroll super-power is a real word to describe stable countries which hold onto a large amount of military power, economy, with or without the presence of nuclear weapons. US, Russia, England, China, Japan, France, etc. the nazis invaded foreign countries with a stable government and took control with their own people to force their discriminatory beliefs onto them and enslave most of them, the US 'invades' countries with unstable governments who have been thrown out of power by...

  • @megatroll .. by militia groups who kill, rape, and pillage villages while they overthrow their government, then the U.N. makes a decision as a whole that the country should receive help from an outside source, and since the U.S. has one of the most agile military/rapid response forces in the world, they are sent most of the time to help that country get back on its feet. and the U.S.'s presence only enrages people who suffer from the presence in that country... ie.drug lords,....

  • , murderers, and people who want power for themselves. then they make up some excuses to try and make it seem like the U.S. is doing bad in their country, ie. sending kids to kill american troops, then tell the media the kid was innocent. and the presence of U.S. bases in ally countries is for strategic placement around hostile countries. if you did not know, japan is VERY close to north korea, and japan would probably not attack N.K. if they attacked S.K. as fast as the U.S. would.

  • @yamomotoable

    Hahahahaha...

You're the archetype of the brainwashed sheep.

You literally swallow every last word of US propaganda.

Nothing to add here. I've come to know kids like you.

Keep living in your delusional dream world and support the fascist military empire.

    You disgust me.

  • @megatroll and your the middle aged man living in his parents' basement thinking there are evil leprechauns after total control of your cookies and cream ice cream. get a life conspiratorial theorist....

  • @yamomotoable

Haha, and you come full circle.

I was missing the "Conspiracy theorist" in your previous nonsense paragraph. As in every brainwash agenda, it is an important part to declare any questioners/opposers of the regime as either "conspiracy theorists" or members of a political minority to discredit and insult them.

You've proven all my points + shocased how much of a mindless fascist tool you are. Congratulations. Hitleri Clinton and Obama would be proud of you. :)

  • Thank you for this video. I particularly like your point about imagining the tables being turned. The India example is perfect. Sadly there are just enough people here in the US who believe American exceptionalism and simply can't imagine our country being equal to or living "under" the dictates of others. While your point is solid it would be cast aside by so many with a simple " That'll never happen!" It is frustrating to live here and to be associated with such attitudes by default.

  • US Navy serviceman here. I will be getting stationed in Atsugi very soon. We constantly hear the stories about marines, which sorry to say, are the ones who commit the most crimes of rape and murder in Japan. That's not to say Navy folks do it either, but for the most part Marines. I have been a fan of Japan before my navy days, and I am embarrassed this kind of stuff happens. I wish we could be there in complete peace. I'm better off going to Japan not in the Navy.

  • @NeoGrimz543

Almost one thousand comments on this video so far.. and some of the most intelligent and reasonable comments have come from US service personnel.. read them and you will feel better..

  • I'm curious, how much Japanese discontent over the presence of American service personnel stems from the legendary Japanese racism and xenophobia?

I'm also curious how many of those rapes are Japanese girls who regret consensual sex - or whose fathers, brothers, and boyfriends regret it - and file charges on this basis?

The crimes are regrettable, but there is a system in place to handle them - the UCMJ.

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

I absolutely hate that US military exists all around the world.

and I think America cannot afford "World Police" anymore.

not just because of fiscal debt problem, but also american people don't like the idea of US as "World Police"

  • stop living in the motherfucking past!!! don't wast your life looking in the past look to the future my friends!!!

  • if the american bases left japan, Japan would have to rearm and create a true military, rather then a SDF. This could cause N. Korea, china & russia to start a arms race. If japan was no longer under the U.S. nuclear umbrella, they may be forced to go nuclear. i feel bad for the people for the people who live around the bases due to noise/crime, but if they werent there, it could be a lot worse.

  • you bring up so many good points regarding the okinawa base issue, and it is so unfair for the locals. its so important to consider the other side... I don't understand why, and I wont say it is easy, but much more likely to find an individual with compassion, but not a government. personally I have had some good times in the states but my heart's just not there because of modern american international image

  • i also think i should mention that china is growing more powerful by the minute. i think another good reason for the united states to have so many bases is so they can contain communism. There are more U.S. bases in asia then any other continent.

  • well i am going to join the navy and id love to be stationed in japan. I surely hope ill have fun.

  • You should keep up your good work :P I have seen so far all your old videos until this one and they are really informative in every way it exist, like fashion for women and men, gay topics, politics, etc... And I really see the point of everything u are saying n_n Good luck in your future projects ^^

  • This video makes a clear point on the subject. America, as long as I lived here, has had an economy decline and crime rates have gone up. America should just honestly think clearly about what is being done and look on both sides of the argument. The American society has been declining since 2006 maybe earlier. I dislike honestly what 70% of Americans choices are even though they are good they don't think about the sacrifices and both sides impact. When I go to Japan where should i settle at?

  • @yuthuon If you are american you should know the only reason why our country is not in chaos is because the rest of the world fears our military. We will NEVER reduce the power and number of our military bases around the world especially given China;s provocative cyber attacks. Also crime rates are not on the rise. Violent crime has decreased double digits since the 90's. Stop making facts up you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @TheCasanovvaa I am basing this off opinion and the way this economy has plumited and is on a slow incline to rise again. This opinion is based off the fact of how i have lived and reported through current events so i am entitled to my own saying so i have a right to say what i have to say about the american system. So I do have an idea of what is going on.

  • @yuthuon Lies damned Lies and statistics. You can lie all you want , but statistics say you are wrong. Crime is at an all time low the media over sensationalizes every crime that happens so you see it everywhere, but it is at an all time low and that is a statistical fact.

  • @TheCasanovvaa What you mad? You saying I have no right as an American Citizen Born and raised to be able to speak my mind which is protected by the first amendment? How are my opinions lies. The Philadelphia board of education has been releasing delinquents who have been charged with possession of a weapon and drugs. This rate had been increasing since 2010 so my statistics aren't lies the economy is getting worse from my prospective. Think before you say i am entitled to my own opinion.

  • @yuthuon "as long as I lived here, has had an economy decline and crime rates have gone up." You have only lived here 1 year? Increasing since 2010 means it has been increasing less then a year. Since stats from the government are measured in quad-quarterly segments it means NOTHING it is just capitulation. I Trade bonds and Currency for a living i know my shit because i have to put my money where my mouth is each day. I will not argue with person who does not goodbye.

  • @TheCasanovvaa Actually i have not lived here for 1 year. I clearly said i was a Born and raised citizen in my previous comment so you can go somewhere else with that. Your reading is not thorough enough learn to analyze the facts that you are wrong and that i have been just speaking my mind. Is that against the law? No. The document was written by our 4 fathers in the Amendments on which America has grown on. Do I have no right? Are you trying to take that right away from me? Clearly idgaf

  • @TheCasanovvaa You claim to have "BETTER" facts. Well think about this. America tortures foreign nationals without trial or due process. Our media tells the American people that it is "enhanced interrogation" the Chinese still call it "the drowning torture". So how exactly can you claim that crime is at an all time low when the U.S.A. itself is engaging in criminal activity? And where exactly do you get your data on crime in America? Not the national census bureau obviously.

  • To be clear, I'm not intending to put this forward as a moral justification for the presence of U.S. military bases in Japan. However, it isn't remotely comparable to the U.S. war with Cuba or Vietnam.

Wars are not 'won' to an absolute degree. It could be argued that nobody 'wins' a war at all. We simply refer to the party who achieved it's political aims as the 'winner.' Cuba/Vietnam maintained the status quo, and thus thwarted the agenda of the U.S. in declaring war...

  • ...but they never achieved the political or military leverage necessary to carry out an occupation. The reason that the U.S. occupied Japan to begin with(and the reason the U.S. continues to leverage soft/hard power) is simply because it seemed advantageous to those at the helm of U.S. foreign policy. It's also the reason that those bases are there today, because the powers that be see them as important to supporting U.S. military hegemony. This behavior isn't peculiar to the U.S., but instead..

  • ...stands consistent with the behavior of any imperial power throughout history. The U.S. isn't a particularly bloodthirsty or depraved political entity that came out of nowhere, it's simply holding the torch of superpowers for the moment.

All of that said, the more of an outrage is made of the matter, the less advantageous it is for the U.S. to maintain such foreign enterprises. However, I think that ultimately we will see these things disappear for less idealistic reasons.

  • My comments are backward

Not to be provocative either, but I'm not the least bit ashamed that we(I'm American) have the bases there. It's unfortunate that bad things have happened on account of them. I just don't think that we can hold nations to same standard of morality as individuals. I do believe we should respect national sovereignty and human rights as much as possible, but we aren't referring to a quarrel between two individuals, so I don't see why we should describe it in those terms.

  • Very good video! Informative! Thank you very much for making this!

  • I spent the last 2 hours reading all the comments. You have some truly wonderful sentiments expressed here. Of course there are senseless-insensitive ones too but those are a minority(I think). Hope you don't shy from any topic. Ever. Good on ya, here. Echo a previous comment: 'I love you, man.'

I've shied away from the religious/political/social topics doing 'gaming videos'. I should not do. It's all informative. As long as it's done with compassion&intelligence-it's all good. As you do. Cheers

  • How many other channels do you have??? I've never seen this "TheSillyOldDude" channel before this.

  • I lived in Korea for a while, and it seemed like every time there was a crime it was some stupid ass American soldier causing trouble for one of the natives. I wouldn't want them in my country unless there was active fighting going on and whatnot.

  • Comment removed

  • Your position is patently wrong in every point you try to make. I cannot correct you effectively in 500 characters or less, but I will point out that all of the American bases now in the home islands of Japan are there with the permission of the Japanese government from treaties negotiated since the 1950’s after the USA changed the mission there from an Army of Occupation under the Rules of War to one of stability and defense with a Status of Forces agreement. Okinawa is a different issue.

  • i thought russia helped japan thou i did get this info from black ops lol and why would people want to kill japanese people?

  • @dorianali1 Wow, our education system is fucked. During WW2 Japan was ran by a dictator, and attacked us at Pearl Harbor (lets hope you've heard of that). That's why we attacked them. Russia was not on their side. Russia was on the allies side along with the U.S., China, Britain, Australia, and many, many more. Russia played a huge role in helping the U.S. and Britain take out Germany. Watch a few documentaries on WW2, because our schools suck ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @bb152005 it was a joke. i only dint know why the u.s was protecting japan and their not really protecting it i think japan can handle stuff on their own. sorry for misleading you. you still ding answer my question from who are they being protected from china? p.s i am not from america i leave here but i am from Europe. and your right Americas education system is fucked up. sorry i offended i know i have no right to criticize other countries. thnx for info i learned more from you then school.

  • @dorianali1 Oh, I was thinking you got one of our shitty American educations, lol. We need to pull all of our bases from overseas. They are nothing but a way of scaring people into what we want them to do, not for protecting anyone. Our politicians are retarded, and start planning new wars before we even finish the 1st one. The Japan base is just to keep China and Russia on it's toes. Haha, and people in the U.S. wonder why the world hates us.

  • I teach World Cultures to 6th grade students in the US and I've never read a history book that actually lays out how many allies fight along side the US. As far as WW2 goes we are taught that there were only the English, French, and Russians on the Allied side. A lot of our students never know how many countries truly work together.

I would like to use your videos when I teach the unit on Asia if you don't mind.

    Thank you for your videos!

  • @angiefrog81 Yeah, U.S. history books only write stuff that makes us look good. Other countries were Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Brazil, Belgium, Mexico, Ethiopia, Netherlands, etc. I can't quite remember the rest, but there were a lot of them. Instead of reading from a book, you should show them documentary's. They are much more informative, and they don't try to bend the truth. They also have WW2 vets speaking on the vids. I can give you the names of good ones if you want.

  • US is just using japan to contain china. this is why it's absolutely not in japan's interest to continue to host us military.

  • Haha, this should be called "Lessons in common sense"... xD

  • Very nice video, thank you.

  • i think we forget that russia changed sides at one point but that isn't the point, i personally believe usa should leave japan, and allow then to build an offensive not just defensive armed forces. also i think that the usa is to blame for themselves for the actions they have causes, you have to remember that its the way they treat others that gets reflected on themselves.

  • I have recently join the Air force and about to be stationed in Japan... It's where I want to be stationed and I was excited.... but now I feel that I might regret it.

  • as a Japanese that lived in Okinawa, those are the reasons that they are annoying us. 1: We pay billions and billions for those American bases when they are the ones occupying and using it not to protect Japan but as a "stop-over" if a war happens in South East Asia (North Korea, China etc) 2: The rapists and murderers are nimprisoned in Japanese prisons but instead safe from trial because the bases are considered American territory 3: The bases occupy 20% of Okinawa 4:bases in residential areas

  • Hey I'm an American "Redneck" and I don't support rude or judgmental comments, that being said I can definitely empathize with the Japanese folks you interviewed not wanting to post because of boneheaded comments ,because I get attacked sometimes for being an American and a country one at that. Its nice to see that there are other thoughtful people out there representing us westerners... I wasn't bothered by the "Redneck" comment by the way so no worries there mate. :)

  • Just for clarification, the U.S. didn't really invade Cuba. The people who invaded Cuba were Cuban exiles trained by the CIA. I don't want to take away from this video, but I feel I should correct any historical inaccuracies I see, even if I think you are a cool guy ;)

  • I was in the U.S. Army for seven years and been to allot of countries met allot of good people. I am also native American (Mescalero Apache) never been to Japan I wish I did. I think there are too many G.I's there and understand why some want us out. I had e-mailed a Japanese friend in Okinawa he said if all the base's were closed he would loose his good paying job on the base and the local economy would go bad, I did not think of that. Japan has a very good military. They don't need us there.

  • You've mentioned interesting bits of history that aren't always found in normal history books and I'd really like to properly learn about it (i.e. not the usual "AMERICA WINS AND IT'S THE GREATEST COUNTRY EVER!" which is hard to believe). Could you recommend some books about vietnam and ww2?

    Thank you.

  • The average American has no say in these kind of thing so you can blame them for it. It wrong to say you hate America when it's the government

  • @arhamus Russia was not really part of axis. Russia was one of the largest armies on the allied side that defeated Nazi Germany. it is said that something like 80% of German forces were wiped out by the Russians. Your right about the partitioning of Poland and the occupation of the Baltic countries. But still not enough evidence to prove Russia was part of the axis pact. Don't forget, Russia was afraid of Germany which initially why they signed a secret agreement. Germany turned on them in 1941

  • We in the US, owe China so much money, we could never even pay the interest on the balance. Dont they own us already ?

  • @ExposingCondeII2 Why is he an ass?

  • I will be concerned if American army leaves Japan; because the relationship between China and Japan is still unpredictable. So it may be better if there is a judge when conflict happens.

  • i think it's purely diplomatic. and anywhere you go there has probably been rapes murders in the last 60 years. I think that the Idiots on Youtube are getting to you. America isn't full of idiots and jerks that want to run the world.

  • im not saying if the americans shuld or shuld not be there but the americans shuld not have peppole like that serving in any contry and thay shuld be way moere stricked with there soldiers and just because America is there to protect Japan or w/e dont give thim the right to do w/e thay want if thats what there there for thin protect Japan i just think thay want to control evry one. Im canadian and I got to laugh at the peppole who think that America was the only ones who one WW2 read a book!

  • Now how wonderfull wouldn't the Democratic Republic of the United States be?

  • I really dislike when people group every american as harsh rude racist fascist bjksdfklajsfsa. :\ I understand racism is something that'll never go away, but I hate being grouped up in the Americans who are actually like that.

This just coming from a highschooler in america who is interested in other cultures. >.<

  • Japan may belong to Japan, but the simple fact of the matter is that our military presence there acts as a big, "off-limits" sign to China and it's best buddies who would like nothing more than to see Japan wiped off the face of the Earth. That's all there is to it. We would left a long time ago to avoid all the negative public relations if it wasn't for that particular caveat.

  • @Kashano LOL... Dude, if China wanted to invade Japan or ANY other country for that matter, they could have done it a LONG time ago and by now have half the world under its rule. The simple fact of the matter is, the US is still trying to play "world police" and stick its head in everyone's affairs. But because not many people know/don't care about the military bases in Japan and what's been going on there, no one gives a shit enough to make it a big issue, like us occupying Iraq after the war.

  • I'm sorry, but it almost sounds as if these Americans who are committing crimes are not punished. So my question is...are they? Or is it kept hush-hush in the military?

  • @leenva They create A LOT of disruption with the local people they're stationed around I've heard. And I've also heard that they get into trouble MANY times in the hostels, bars, etc in Japan. In short, the American swagger they bring gives a HORRIBLE face to the American military.

  • My view on the matter, as an American non-military citizen is that the Japanese hold the right to decide if the bases remain. Current treaties hold the US to defend Japan if something were to happen and having some force in-country is prudent to fulfill US obligations should it be needed. Beyond that, stricter personnel controls to prevent these incidents and moving bases away from residential areas would allow the US to fulfill its obligations without disturbing anyone until US forces do leave.

  • It really is a shame that so many trolls and pseudo-intellectuals seem to have a field day with this uploaders videos.

I've never really liked or understood trolling... But one thing I have learned is that in order to be remotely 'good' at it, you need an IQ greater than your shoe size. So straight away 99.9% of all the kids that think they're clever and funny by making ridiculous and insulting comments just make themselves look like idiots and add to the stereotype of their countries.

  • People simply can't for the life of them find the middle ground between extremes when it comes to politics. I'm seeing thumbs up for rabid "Americans are ignorant imperialists" anti-Americanism, and thumbs up for rabid pro-American "you don't appreciate us for what we've done" and people simply cannot be humble about any of it. Like my history teacher told me in highschool, what happens to people who choose the middle of the road? They get run over by a truck, of course.

  • In the end It's simply a dog eat dog world. However, Japan did and still does benefit from US presence by allowing Japan to develop it's economically whilst not having to worry about investing in their own military. It does suck however when bad elements of our society finds it's way to Japan, no doubt about that.

America does not control purely through raw GDP, but through the flow of the market, which generally ends up on American shores. So even if China has a bigger GDP it wouldn't matter.

  • While you bring up alot of good point there is one minor correction.

    The US never invaded Cuba.

  • @ALTERED13TH Wow that's some great reasoning. So if i decide to stay in your home with a gun and force you to let me stay it would be cool as long as I help keep the bad people away.

Although in japans case they are targets because of the base. By the way I have lived on military bases so you no I have family in the military.

  • @dogking100 You really are a ignorant dumbass.

  • Well I think it's for the bases because the American army has many many bases all over the world and that is only to be like a camera over the world

  • Nice video. I also wondered if japan is a sovereign country, because my country (Germany) has also still many american bases... My country also has no constitution and is still not united... The Grundgesetz, which the allies gave us, says that germany will be reunited in the borders of 1937. Im really not a racist or something like that, but our politicans are just interested in their money... So does Japan has an own constitution? Because i know japan is not allowed to have a real army is it?

  • @Jonislav

Hi... So yes, situation in Japan it's as sad as it is in Germany.

  • Personally, I believe if Japan needs our help, then great. I don't think we should pull out when we have countries like North Korea right there. Also, I'd like to point out that Vietnam was not a war. Neither was the Bay of Pigs incident and the Cuban Missile Crisis. That logic doesn't work for saying America should be "controlled" by these countries. If Japan were to come together and say we should leave, we should leave. But I wouldn't expect as fast an American response if Japan was attacked.

  • @xxblamxx

Have some news for you. America has not to respond if Japan is attacked, it is just out of your business.

And the same applies for the other 190 countries of this world. If "B" country attacks "C" country as long as America is not "B" or "C", IT IS OUT OF AMERICAN BUSINESS.

  • @mgessler America has an OBLIGATION to defend Japan under the Treaty .

check out wiki / United States Force Japan

  • @mgessler I know we don't, but seeing as they are a major ally of ours, we should defend them should they require our help. After all, they don't run a full, massive military like we do, just their Self-Defense Force. Also, read up on the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan. We have a certain obligation to defend Japan, like @109mytiger said. However, my previous post said if Japan rallied to cancel the treaty, which they can do, we should then leave.

  • @nickster105

    Seriously dude..

stop embarrassing yourself and offending people..

    read a book..

start with the defense of New Guinea.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom once again, i didnt say the americans were completely and entirely the only ones, but they did most of the fighting in the pacific. the AMERICANS beat the japanese, and only a small amount of intervention from other countries on the allied side ever took place (not saying those people dont deserve their own credit for what they did) but you act like it was all of the allies fighting japan and the U.S. just took it...and thats false, AMERICA handled japan, they had the right

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom but i really hope we dont pull out of japan. i love the video's and i hope you keep it up. i hope to visit japan someday.

  • @nickster105

Unfortunately, you sound like a moron. Just like he said you should read a book. The Russians attempted an invasion of of Japan, while the British and British Indians fought the Japanese. As well as the British in New Guinea. Don't pretend you know anything, son.

  • @CandyVolcano unfortunately, your finding tiny details that dont matter as much as you would like them to and then pretending you have substance when you dont, son. America beat Japan in WW2, we have bases there because we are the ones who will have to save their asses if anything happens to Japan. you say pick up a book, yet you leave out the part where america basically built japan after ww2 so that they could be what they are today. id say pick up a book, but u need to learn to read first.

  • @nickster105

"They never actually fought them." - nickster105

Do you enjoy changing your story to make yourself seem smarter? I'm American dumbshit, I moved to Great Britain. I need to learn to read? I'm completely certain I know proper grammar x1000 better then you. Quit being patriotic. It was America that forced the abolishment of a Japanese combatant military force. They didn't 'willingly' allow this to happen, it was unconditional. I suppose you wouldn't know much about history, though.

  • @nickster105 Time to correct your grammatical mistakes. Unfortunately* you're* don't* don't* America* Japan* I'd* you* Of course I'm not counting a good bit of the punctuational mistakes, except apostrophes. The Japanese people want military independence, but you just have to be the typical American nationalist imperialist, don't you. One of the good reasons I moved.
  • @nickster105 THE SOVIETS FOUGHT AGAINST THE JAPANESE LATER IN THE WAR

  • its all a staged by the elitists not by the people.if all the countries that have a world bank could get rid of it great technologies from good people would emerge.we are sick of the false flag ops.remember they don`t want to win any wars but just exploit them.the revalutionary war had both sides funded by the same elitist.and we did put tarrifs on japan cutting all oil imports provokng them into war they had no choice.

  • The world is bored about your falling pseudo-fascist empire, Americans :)

  • @Recundigus We are mostly hated by every country that I know of and If I abandoned her I might be considered a betrayer of my country and a pathetic piece of misguided work, or something along those lines...but hey....I didn't vote for any 20th century president so you can count me out from your long list of political and international boredoms, thank you if you read this.

  • Comment removed

  • I've heard that the emotions on this issue have cooled somewhat thanks to "Operation Tomodachi," the American military's efforts to aid Japan after the Tohoku Earthquake. I've seen some nice videos on that here on YouTube.

  • @Recundigus Thank you for pointing out that America is neither fascist nor an empire. Perhaps you are just ignorant about what “pseudo” means, as may be the case. The eight people who thumbed up your comment are either as ignorant as you are and therefore trying to fake having an informed opinion or were just tolerating your poor use of the English language while seeing your comment as pro-America. For my part, I thank God that there is an America willing and able to stand in harm’s way.

  • @b1bobson Dear Bob, the Fascist-Empire of America is a Pseudo Empire cuz no one is courageous enough to formalize it. If tomorrow on the tv i'll see "the New Name of the USA is United Empire of Fascist America" so it'll be a Real Empire :D Like in Italy in the 2nd ww.

"were just tolerating your poor use of the English language" Anyway Pseudo is Latin Leanguage, not English, Ignorant.

  • @nickster105

    "the only ally was Russia"??

Just offended a whole heap of people whose grandfathers died.

    Back to the school books.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom I'd just like to say that as an American I don't hear a lot of people making the argument that we have a "right" to be in Japan because of WWII. Most people understand that WWII is simply the "because" not a moral justification. Like in most countries, opinion is divided. Most people on the liberal political end of the spectrum think that we are spending too much money keeping our military in far-flung parts of the world and that we have no business being "world police".

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom yes some of the allied countries helped america aginst japan but didnt put in as much manpower and didnt lose as many soldiers as us americans did really the only country that even helped us out in the pacific was australia and britain and they did very little. as for stuff like vietnam we didnt lose the war really because we nevr fully committed to it trying to stay out of ww3 with the u.s.s.r. and china. the bay of pigs was done by cuban revolutionaries not americans....

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Love you videos. I'm an American and I'm inclined to agree with the Japanese peoples' point of view. Although I understand there are pros and cons of giving up a permanant base in another country it should be up to the people of that country and the people alone. I personally believe when you are spending any amount of time in another country that you need to abide not only by their laws but by their social codes, and show them nothing but respect for letting you be there.

  • @nickster105 you are totally right..... i was going to write that exact same comment but u already had it there.

  • @nickster105 Ok so China fighting the Japanese occupation, Taiwan, the Vietnam/Cambodia area, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and the Phillipines?

Any of those countries fighting the Japanese ring a bell to you?

  • @BlueRazor69 did any of those countries beat the japanese? no. some may have held them off, but they didnt beat the japanese in ww2 now did they?

  • @nickster105 Australian planes were doing bomb runs over Tokyo, Filipino soldiers and soliders from British territories were assaulting Okinawa. It wasn't just America from 1941 to the end of the war. Without the backing of other allied nations we would have lost far more than we did.

  • /watch?v=LM-CRbnodps

    New Video!

  • Oh and regarding the Vietnam issue I don't think it counts as a lost war. Before I say anything else I am going to say I am not an expert on the war or the era, but from wat I know about it we were kicking the NVA's ass and were on the verge of victory until the dumbass politicians who were running this country finnaly decided that we were having to many of our boys killed for some one elses war. So I don't know if I would call it a lost war.

  • @RUT600 sorry we had our asses handed to us on that one. some Americans have a delusion of grandeur.

  • @ljavier68 you really need to actually study what happened during the war instead of using movies and tv as a source.

America WON every major land battle during the vietnam war and by the end of the war, america lost under 58,000 soldiers while the total communist forces lost over 1,000,000. and yes, the communists had guns, bombs, artillery, tanks, helicopters, and jet fighters as well.

  • @nyannyan123456 I agree. If these other countries hate us so much we should just leave their asses to defend themselves when shit hits the fan. When that happens we can see if they change their minds about our being there. If they're still happy about us leaving while they're getting their asses shot off, then good for them. It will save our tax payer's dollars for other usefull things.

  • On the North Vietnam controlling America thing. To be able to occupy a country, you first have to be able to gain control of that country. Considering North Vietnam never once even an American settlement. You can't say N Vietnam would be in control of the US.
