April 2, 1987 - One of the saddest days in my life. For my grandfather and I (both drummers) it was like losing a member of the family. I was 10 years old, and already a big fan - It was one of the first deaths "close to me". We spent many Saturdays listening to BR's albums and playing the drums. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the clips. I had a chance to talk with buddy about 6 times. Even in his dressing room with Don Lamond a friend of both of us in 1972 in Orlando. the coolest story of Buddy and me is this: I recognized his Mercedes as he drove on the freeway the same time I did in Orlando that 1972 night after the Monti's Pub gig. I beeped the first part of 'Shave and a Haircut" theme. He beeped back the finish! I felt honored!! John-Hans Melcher "theQuietDrummer" Buddy & I did a duet!!! :-)

Buddy´s death was even mentioned on Norwegian national TV. I remember it as it was yesterday.
