I'm 14 years old and have noticed that my heating has gone down a little bit but I haven't thought much of it but now I'm finding that I'm saying what a lot and can't always hear my teachers but I'm kinda embarrassed to tell my mom or dad or someone because I don't know what anyone will say... having hearing aids sucks,(had them since 4) make me self conscious, at least girls have advantage of hiding their's. can't wait to get out of college and get a job and buy those lyrics which are completely invisible just really damn expensive.

My hearing has been impaired since birth and I wore hearing aids throughout my school life. I never really wanted to wear them much cause people would joke me a lot the time about my hearing and I wanted to be "normal" like everyone else. I'm glad doctors created such technology to help us with out disabilities. To me it's pretty brave to admit about your own disabilities to others and me being hearing impaired, it makes me feel good to watch this video. Thank you. btw your pretty!

@darkwyvern2 my friends used to joke about my hearing aids too, but we all cracked on each other so it was cool, a lot of times my hearing aids would fall out on the field while playing football and they make that whistling noise they would be like " yep he's communicating with the aliens again" haha

My dad's step brother is hald deaf and he married a deaf lady and they had 3 perfectly normal hearing kids, lucky. @chessdude67 I Am 16 year olds and I have had hearing aids for over a year now. They help oh so much. I sing and with these they help me stay in tune. I have tittinitus in my right ear and i don't hear it with my hearing aids. You also get to pick colors! Yay. Lol. I have purple hearing aids with music note stickers on them and tye dye ear molds. You'll do great with yours! Oticon hearing aids are the best. Just saying. :)

I have always complained to my dad he needs to have his hearing tested but he said he will do it in his own time and then I went to the doctor with a problem with my left ear and got referred to the audiologist who prescribed hearing aids so I ended up with them before my dad.
But your right that no one can see them I met a friend who had not seen me in ages and he did not notice them until I pointed them out an hour later.
GREAT VIDEO! I am actually about to turn 40 may 24th 1971, I never had any major problems with hearing or ear infections until into my 30s actually. Now I am averaging an infection every 2 - 3 months and your right, each time the hearing does not come back totally, My right ear has never returned to toally normal, the left seems totally fine. I may end up with a hearing aid for my right ear.

@lx0osarahhL oh ok, because i'm 31 and I know hearing loss runs on my dad's side and my middle brother just got himself tested and his is slowly going. So I'm guessing you just had a hearing test done not long ago and it got worse which is why the hearing aids were needed huh?
If you want good grades, can you learn A.S.L. you WILL need to. You will need V.R. services and the school to put f.m. system in the class rooms for you. My grades went to D-F range, but when I found A.s.l., note takers, and all the avenues that could be taken (interpreters), I rebounded to A-B level. Do not be embarrassed to learn and embrace A.S.L. and the full culture that comes with it. Do not give up your vocal voice. Fm system & Blue Tooth through your aids is incredible!!!

u are a true poineer!!! this is something thats very personal and i give u SOOOO much credit for putting this on youtube!! i was born deaf and at age 2 1/2 i got my fist cochlear implant and then i got my second when i waz 9. its always been very hard to talk to people when they ask "whats that thing behind ur ear?" but i have learned to become a stronger and i have learned to stand up for myself and others. and i think that all of us who are hearing impaired should stand up together.

Hi, i have trouble with my right ear its just build up of wax but about 2 weeks ago i woke up one mornin and i was deaf in my right ear, i went to the drs and it took about a week till i got my ear syringed but that week was horrible i really appreciate my hearing now! you are a great person and your right i would rather hear then feel embarresed about hearing aids anyway its not a big deal! i would of walked around with a big sighn sayin i cant hear you!!!!! lol All the best!!!

im 25 yrs old. been using hearing aids since i was about 8. but i stopped using them from 13yrs-20 yrs old. lotta kids teased me. so i took it personal. but i started using them again. i can say that its a blessing and a curse. a curse cuz people still view me as "different". But a blessing cuz i can hear a lot better. im almost certain that my hearing loss came from the infections i had when i was a kid. although the doctor's said otherwise. but im still glad i have them

@iandc2003 well when i was younger it wasnt as much as a problem because the class sizes were smaller and stuff im an honors student so it was pretty hard to tell i had a problem until i got to high school
