I had mixed feelings about the band when my older sister started listening to them back in '91, but they weren't annoying and her voice always sounded so angelic, they have been a huge part of my life, keept me smart and alive, held on to my magic when others were falling, doing drugs and giving up on life.

@BeJustInTime i think it's the album concept and theme that threw people off. and let's face it, if they have to start making and thinking of a list, they will start to zoom in on the more obvious and questionable ones, like soft-rock albums dedicated to dead people. :(

I totaly agree with you nandho5. I think that pound for pound, To The Faithful Departed was the bands best album. It didnt have the big impact songs like the previous two but it had a better variety of really diverse and damn good songs. Dolores you have got one of the coolest voices of all time.

This song is not of death, Dolores wrote this song remembering how it is easy for us to take love for granted especially when we have it everyday as she does, but when her husband was away working or something she felt 'cold and bare' as she says in the lyrics. I heard about this in an interview.
