I think that the red team were lucky to win that point. The white team were directing all of their smashes directly at the reds' racquets. If I had been playing I would have probably smashed harder and more cunningly.

It's hard to criticize badminton as opposed to Tennis or Squash. Badminton is the sport that involves trickery and strategy, whereas Tennis involves strength and the ability to perform spins (which is possible in badminton but spinning the shuttle isn't easy). Squash is where you hit the ball to outwit your opponent, as well as the force you hit it.

Badminton is about force and smashes too, so it does require the stamina to move around as well as the skill to utilize the trickery.

If you don't appreciate how deep the clears are, how fast/accurate the smashes are, how tight the net shots and drops are, and the deception, speed, agility, accuracy and consistancy, espeically when they get EVERY back somtiumes - then it's going to look boring.

I love this video. I'm very good at badminton. I used to set up games, two on two, two rackets for each player, and four birdies in play. We used to be so good, and flowing, that at times, we'd swing backwards, facing away, knowing that we'd hit it back to the other team. It used to take 5-6 minutes for all birdies to be down, and then we take score. :) I miss it so. Aaahh, high school...
