  • F@#$ this, state rights need to come back if you wanna do something in california then do it! Keep shit coming out of your mouth in california! Arkansas DOES NOT give a shit if you dont like something. We are a older state than you and our people are religious and the shit you want is against what we believe in. If we ALL dont want it than its not going to happen. Why does california feel the need to change the country?Remember 1 thing we dont have crazy gun laws so we have more power than u!

  • No 1 can stop ppl from loving!God never said to love nd besides God never mentions anything against homosexuality in the new testoment!!!!

  • I just don't understand. I have been married for 7 years and have a 2 y/o son. I'm happy. So why would I deny someone else the chance to also be happy.

  • excellent work!

  • God is not great. The world would be better off if people weren't so eager to abandon reason.

It doesn't bother me if people want to have imaginery friends; I just wish they would keep their illusions private like a proper lunatic.

  • I'm sorry you feel the need to control the sex life and relationships of others. Your life must be very sad.

  • You should have your own slot on fox news with that kind of BULLSHIT that is falling out of your mouth.

  • I'd be better off being artificially insemenated with female eggs than trying for a husband, which I have my whole life, someone to love.

  • You do have the same rights:

You have the right to marry the opposite sex.

Straight people don't have the right to marry the same sex.

    =)

  • I think they mean the right to marry the person you love, which straight people have...

  • a woman has the right to marry a man, but a man does not have that right. a man has the right to marry a woman, but a woman does not have that right.. all because of some "god breathed" words in a book

  • I think they want the right to have a relationship where they are sexually attracted to and in a loving relationship with their partner. You know a chance to be happy? Heterosexuals have that right, homosexuals don't.

  • Go ahead and have a civil union. But don't change the meaning of marriage that God gave it.

  • Marriage dates back several thousand years, emerging as a civil arrangement at the same time as the emergence of private property. Far from fulfilling any religious purpose to unite one man and one woman, anthropologists theorize that most primitive marriages were polygamous. Marriages were entered into in order to expand the land or material goods base of a clan, either through the receipt of a dowry or the merger of two clans' assets.

So God did NOT give marriage any meaning.

  • there just crying cuase they lost

  • Eventually the bigots and fundies and idiots who voted for this stupid amendment will either die out or pass beyond their faculties. Or, the government or courts will override their protests just like they have done over numerous minority protections in the past.

We will win. Time is on our side.

  • That was the link but that wasn't exactly the argument. The argument was to regulate marriage for the purpose of maintaining the illusion that it was sacred or magical so as to maintain a stable birthrate.Think of it as a Wizard of Oz effect to maintain a healthy human population. The reason behind this is that in countries that have legalized gay marriage both marriage and childbirth are down but singleparenthood is up.

  • "But if you know of other reasons that don't fit into that category, I'd be happy to hear them."

Google: "The Straussian case against gay marriage."

This happens to be my argument as well, but I believe it was one of the arguments for the Prop 8.

  • "start a riot"??? yea....great song for people who want peace and dont believe in hate. how stupid can "you people" really be?

the only time to start a riot, war, or be angry is when a subject that is for the people is decided by the Govt. However, this subject was decided by the people, for the people. RIGHT?

  • "you people"? that's disgusting. there is no "you" or "me," at least there shouldn't be. it still amazes me that people forget WHY america is here, why so many people fled here; to escape discrimination in their own countries. I'm pretty damn sure those who founded this country didn't do it so that hundreds of years later we'd turn around and have to face what they escaped. Discrimination is never ok; never the right thing to do. We have every right to be angry and we won't stop fighting.

  • keep fighting! you'll never win

  • The only hateful behavior here is on the part of the protestors. They just impute motives to their opponents and proceed on them with no justification.

  • There is nothing like a leftist temper tantrum. God damned spoiled brats. Their parents should have thrashed their rear-ends as children.

Do any of these protestors even realize that one could support Prop 8 yet do so for reasons other than homophobia? It doesn't seem that they even care to listen to the opposition to realize that these reasons exist.

  • YES ON 8!!!

  • You must really like getting into arguments over the internet. Get over it, and watch other videos.

  • No. I have a right to an opinion as much as you do and if its not disrespectful I don tsee why mine or any others comments need to be voted down because they dont agree with this video.

  • Whether or not it's disrepectful or not, people are going to mark it down because they don't agree.

  • That says alot about those kind of people.

  • Well what can you do? I got plenty of thumbs down on MY comments, which are respectful, just controversial. I stopped caring. I just care about getting my opinions noticed.

  • I know there is nothing anyone can do but Its not just me being shot down here so im not just speaking for myself. I can understand people getting over angry over putting others down but voicing opinions?

  • Trying to understand why people do the things they do is like trying to "fit the ocean in a thimble"

  • WoW

I thought prop 8 already passes....

    Get over it

  • no.

  • Well I could go on and on about my opinion and cause a debate here but Im not up for it (Not because youre right and im wrong or im wrong and your right) Im too tired for it.

    Anyways...

The best thing that will happen in California is Gay unions to keep everyone happy. Its a lose lose thing for everyone if its any other way than that. Expect Rioting and violence anyway this ends up though (Sadly).

  • i guess i'm just more passionate on the subject, although on the surface we're on the same page. i won't bring up anything else because you don't wish to continue. so on that note, goodbye, this was a good debate.

  • what you suggest is separate but equal, and there is evidence ALL through our country's history that shows time anf time again that separate is NEVER equal. you keep saying that it's all equal and not denying anyone rights, and if you believe that, TRADE WITH ME my union for your marriage.

  • i agree that YOU are not denying their love, but there are TONS of yes on 8 supporters (just look at the comments posted on this video) who think gays and lesbians are an abomination and shouldnt be alive or breathing. so speak for yourself, and your views, not anyone else's.

  • Yea its over, prop 8 was passed by popular demand, why cant you people settle for unions? You dont get the title of marriage but you get alot of the same rights, and both sides get some of what they want here without being greedy.

  • a lot of the same rights isn't the same as ALL the same rights. i'd rather not settle for some because that's not what's right. we're not going to settle for less, so we're gonna keep fighting this.

  • So if you had ALL the "Same rights" MINUS the title of Marriage to keep others happy as well would you agree to that? There is also this old famous saying and sing. "You cant always get what you want" "Fighting" for it (and in some cases violentlly by the prop 8 supporters) will only get more negative feed from others.

  • first of all, "same rights"? why is that in quotes? it's a known fact that domestic partnerships don't have the same rights as a marriage, so it shouldn't be in quotes.

second, the word marriage is a symbol of unity and love between two people. and it sounds more romantic to say "i got married" than "i got a civil union"

third, now gays and lesbians are being treated differently under the law. that's NEVER okay. everyone has the right to be treated the same under the law.

  • Hilarious, all you gays, fighting so people will recognize your fetish. Yeah, thats all it is a fad and a fetish. A stupid sexual lifestyle you for some reason need legalized and forced into acceptance so you can 'be more romantic'? Man you guys are a lark. Ever think that people don't want to rewrite the law so you can 'feel good' about sticking yours up another mans prosterior?

  • My favorite part of your comment? It's the part where you think you know everything about everyone who's different than you. Oh, yeah, and the part where you assume everyone fighting for this "fad" is gay. First off, you aren't gay, so you wouldn't know what it's like to be harrassed, humiliated, beaten, and now treated different by law for who you love.

  • Guess what? You calling it a fad in a youtube comment doesn't make you correct. Second, not everyone fighting against this is gay. For probably the millionth time, i will say this: the girl who made this is NOT gay, and I am not gay. We are straight girls who aren't narrow minded or morons.

  • Fetish: a form of sexual desire in which gratification depends to an abnormal degree on some object or item of clothing or part of the body.

So I guess a heterosexual relationship could be a fetish as well, going on a dictionary definition. Your idea of what a fetish is was made up by you, worded in order to make your comment somewhat legit to whoever will read it and actually believe you.

  • Don't matter what the official def is, all I need to know is that gay is a fetish that yields nothing. That and your trying to stick a sex act into law so it can be enforced. How about gays keep their sexuality to themselves, and not flaunt it out in the open like they do, if you can't have the common curtesey to keep your relationships private why should it be in law where they will shove it down peoples throats even more then they aleady do?

  • Wow, you're incredibly ingnorant. Marriage = sex, gay or not. There WAS a sex act stuck into the law, to word it the way you did. All that was accomplished was to keep sex between a man and a woman. Straight couples don't hide themselves, why should gays? They shouldn't have to hide themselves just because it makes some people squirmy. And there you go placing me in the LGBTQ community. Grow up and get used to it. They are NOT gonna be straight now just because you don't like them.

  • I love how whenever anyone who opposes gay marriage feels threatened by intellectual arguments, they resort to beastiality. Homosexuality is two human beings, not rabid animals. Whether you want to face it or not, your argument there is not a legit one. Marriage was not about starting families. It started as a way to increase two families' wealth. NOT babies. Marriage started long before religion was around. And the only reason why they are as loud as they are is to prove to people like you that

  • they are NOT going anywhere. I never said they were hiding, I said they shouldn't have to. And they are not going to "no matter how much you beg and scream." And PDA is not a gay thing, it's an obnoxious thing two people who can't keep their hands off of each other do to make other people uncomfortable, gay or straight.

  • Yields the same thing in and of itself, therefore it's the same as any fetish that you can think of. I just love how anyone who argues for gays also hide from intellectual argument and go strait to denial. You insist that it effects no one, when there is plenty of proof that proves otherwise, and any time your faced with that, you insist they don't exist rather then address them.

  • I never said it affects no one, I said I don't care if it does. Just because some people are bothered by it doesn't mean it's wrong. It's just not understood because it's "different." You've made it apparent that you hate gays, and you're mad that they aren't going to sit down and deal with injustice. If you think comparing gay relationships to beastiality is "intellectual," then this conversation is over.

  • MAjor FAIL.

You just proved my point, you don't care how it effects everyone, and would rather call anyone who disagrees with you a hater then deal with the facts. All you want to do is force social acceptance and take away the rights of others in substitute for your own.

  • Show me how anything you said wasn't hate. Take away rights from others? How about all the rights that were taken away from a minoirty group becasue they make people like you uncomfortable? How are your rights being taken away? Since this passed, your life hasn't changed, yet millions of other lives have changed. If it failed, guess what? Your life still would not have changed. YOUR rights have nothing to do with it.

AND I AM NOT GAY I JUST WON'T STAND FOR HATE.

  • One, gay isn't in the constitution so it has no rights to take away. Two, you are trying to officially change the definition of marriage, wich by it's very nature in the law will cause a ripple effect through the legal system that you refuse to address. Three, gay is not a race, it's a lifestyle option and thus is governed by the choices you make, thus placing it under anti-discrimination laws is enforcing lifestyle option onto anyone, weither they want to be a part of it or not.

  • Gays are human beings. Period. Whether you like it or not. They didn't choose to be that way, they were born like that. Hating someone for the way they're born? That won't be acceptable anymore. I'm tired of fighting with an idiot. This conversation is over. Go ahead and have the last word, I'm done with you.

  • They are not a race, weither you like it or not, and I don't hate gays, I merely point out the flaws in your close minded way of thinking. I like equality, but the way your trying to get equality in effect destroys it, not because your gay, not because of hate, but because the method used. That's the point you so furiously try to denounce.

  • then don't look at them.

  • because of the Preamble to the US Constitution, along with amendments 1 and 14.

  • Marriage isn't a right. Now can we have our rainbow back.

  • Great video! =)

  • Same-sex marriage is inevitable. People will look back and be amazed that it was ever illegal.

  • you are not even worth rebutting, cuz you're comment was hate. there was not one worthy argument.

PS i'm not a lesbian, i'm a straight woman who doesnt believe in hating others for their differences. you ignorant fool. know the facts before you try to insult somebody.

  • that was so wrong on so many levels, you fucking ignorant asshole. don't even go there.

and homos? first off, the girl who wrote this is straight. i am straight. but we aren't narrow minded, or douchebags. keep your idiotic opinions to yourself.

  • how about YOU go in the closet, and see how much you like it, and then come tell us what to do. unless you've been in the situation we're in right now, you have no right to tell us what to do.

  • We definitely will succeed. It has just begun....the 2nd major civil rights movement will rock this country and the world.

  • you're going to look back on this in 20 years thinking how stupid you were. just saying.

  • it passed for now, but the great thing about being an American? we can keep voting and voting and voting on the same issue over and over and over again. and the people who think like you are becoming less and less, and one day soon we shall have equality for everyone. and guess what? judges exist to help the people make the right decisions. John Adams said "the desires of the majority are often for the injustice of the minority."

  • Rudy Guiliani can kiss my Independant Party ass.

  • The four judges had the conviction to overturn it because they had NO CHOICE. Prop 22 was unconstitutional. It was in direct conflict with the equal protection clause. This is supposed to be a free country with freedom of religion, not YOUR religion imposed on everybody else. I don't get why this is so complicated to people. Of course it's wrong to take away civil rights from people. I'm sure prop 8 will be overturned eventually too. You can't do that in America.

  • We'll look back on Prop 8 passing as a great positive for the advancement of gay rights. As the protests across the Country today have demonstrated, people are catalyzed in mass. Once that starts you can't slow it down. Keep hitting the streets friends... we'll get there soon :)

  • come on, if you're going to insult us, at least have the decency to spell it correctly. it's FAGGOT. dumbass.

  • Rockerboyj12, I see from your channel that you're just a little kid. In a few years, if you should discover that you're gay, I hope you remember what a stupid insensitive child you used to be.

  • Nope. Just some pissed off people who were attacked by LDS and had their rights taken away. We're fighting back. No more Mr. Nice Gay.

  • i don't want to have a mormon bbq. and i apologize for coming off as hateful and angry, but i never thought having my state rip rights away from me would be this maddening. and ignorant people just try my patience.

  • Civil disobedience is as American as apple pie. Fighting for our rights is not a crime. LDS picked the wrong minority to fight.

  • "a gay guy can get married to a woman." did you really just say that? as a bisexual, i find you very offensive. this whole thing IS discrimination. marraige used to be about trading hands of property. people say it's about procreation, but how many married couples don't have kids? people say marriage is about love, so why can't gay men marry the MEN they love. how dare you turn this around and say it's not discrimination and spit in our faces by saying a gay man can marry a woman. how dare you.

  • This is an amazing video. I sent this to all of my friends/peoples in the lgbt community yesterday. =)

The 3 Days Grace song is the perfect song for it. =) The people chanting in the beginning also adds to it and just... ah, beautiful. Inspiring. Definitely favorited.

  • Haha. I'm glad you liked it that much to share it with friends. =D

My friends and I used to drive by the Yes on 8 people blasting the song and after it won I decided it made a good song for a video, the lyrics are mostly perfect.

Also the chanting comes from a a protest that was on my college campus, so I think it makes it even better. or maybe I'm biased. Heh.

  • wow thats... pretty intense...

  • what an ignorant comment.

  • Yeah, people like you are the ones taking a step back in progression. Why don't you go back to your KKK hideout.

  • wow...you are a totally moron, thank you for validating my statement.

  • Organize and Retaliate! Gay people are about to win this cultural war! Never piss off a sissy, we have to much to fight for. Ridicule and discrimination aside, you can't TAKE AWAY our rights! And for you religious freaks... "Do unto others, as you would have done unto you..." Bitches!

  • Don't stop the protests!!! Make the mormon church regret doing this crap.

  • Great video. I completely agree, the fight is far from over.

  • They have defintely pissed off the wrong minority group. And while we won't actually riot (i love this song DUH jessie) we will not stop fighting discrimination. Well done!

  • Awesome video, awesome song!!! Your so right, this isn't over, and one thing those straight, religious and prejudiced people don't understand is that if they think gay people are ugly now, they haven't seen anything yet..because we all know how dangerous a mad and pissed off gay person is, especially when they feel their rights have been trampled on. Watch your backs you biggots..because we are everywhere..and we will do whatever it takes to gain equality, just like blacks did years ago.

  • we don't want to get mad and actually riot. the marches and protests we've had are the kinds we want; peaceful. getting mad and retaliating in a violent way is not the answer; it'll make us as bad as them, and this fight is to show them we are better than them.

  • This isn't over =D

  • Calling for people to riot is a crime.

  • Ok. True enough but I was using it in the same way Three Day's Grace uses it, and by that I mean protesting against the negative things in life. And discrimination is one of them.
