Picked one up for $150 after seeing it hanging in the window of a pawn shop for months, carried her all the way home on my bike, a bit heavy, she's got a hairline crack at the neck bolt, but I do not believe it is affecting anything at the moment. Hooked up to a 25w Bugera tube amp; will try to get a video up one of these days. Keep on rockin' bro! Hey, what campus is that your biking around on? Curious!
i've got the t 15 and a t 60 and i will stop at nothing til i have at least one of every t series! awesome guitars at a great price. both of these guitars only cost me $210 at seperate times. thats way better than the grand i put out for a strat! long live the peavey t 60, it's the sweetest and heaviest guitar i've ever played
man i just got a t-60 , your not fibbin! these things are HEAVY , and the hardware on them is bullet proof, i love how solid it feels when you hold it, the kind of axe you can take with you to hell and back!!
This takes me back to hi school and the sound of the Ventures--in the early 90's I found the complete Peavey t-15 with hard case/amp at a pawn shop in albuquerque--it was my son's first guitar. I paid $125 and it was in mint condition. They still have it. You have captured the sound.
Nice surf sound. Back in 1983, people were giving those guitars away. I wish I had one now. Now I'm into playing Blues and Alt Country, Back in '83 It was Metal All The Way, and you can't get a good metal sound out of those.I did not appreciate the strong points of those guitars back then. I was young and foolish. I traded mine for an Aria Pro II and thought I made out like a bandit. Actually I wish I still had the Aria.
This is very true. They could sell these things under a different name for $1200-1800 right now, and people would buy them without question. Take Peavey off the headstock and put some "boutique" builder on there, and no one would flinch when he asks $3k for it.......
My first guitar!!!! I picked this over a Les Paul when I was 8 years old because the Gibson was too heavy...lol. Oh well, I've got one of those now anyways, but I don't have my Peavey anymore. :( I'm gonna have to find another one, though.
What's crazy is now I realize where I get some of my tastes from.......natural wood finishes, well-made, maple neck, volume knob away from the strings....it all comes back to this little guitar I had when I was a kid.
ht my dad had this this guitar since her was in sixth grade and it got banged up while he was in the navy and i want to restor it for fathers day any idea were i could get some parts
I rebuilt a T-30 pawnshop refugee (same body/neck) with a combination of T-15 and T-30 pickups, and installed Grover 18:1 tuners. It's a gem. You nailed it, an absolutely perfect surf guitar. Peace.
I have a very similar Peavey T-60 (1982) with humbucking pick-ups, but with individual volume and tone controls for each pick-up and you can fade each pick-up from single- to double-coil using the tone dial. I Love It! But it came with an UGLY black pick-guard and a big gaudy bridge, unlike the one you are holding there. Very nice!
Also Peavey's support people can tell you what year it was if you e-mail them the serial number - that's how i did it! :D
the t 15s were made from 82 - 83 iver got one. love it. thats just what i know lol

That's a real guitar!!!
And I remember it wasn't that expensive back then.
The friggin' body looks like my dining room table (I mean that's value for money!) unlike todays guitars, all you get now is cheap korean plywood.
Hey a great video man, it really felt like I went back to the '70s but to inform you this guitar is actually from the '80s.
Anyways.. keep on rockin' dude!

From the online info I can find the Peavey T-15 was made in '82-83. So as for being a 70's guitar I don't think so.

I love this guitar. I have one in tobacco sunburt. I got it for 70 dollars, all original, WITH the hardshell amp case, at a goodwill.

I love the peavey T-series. I have a t-60 and my son has a t-15.
My only gripe about the t-15 is the compensated bridge. not quite intonated
FaceMeltersBand 2 years ago
My friend has one of these, are you using the case amp? The one he has, has a little amp built into the case.
minorkatminor 2 years ago
@minorkatminor - Nope, I'm using an odd 80's Fender solid state amp.
I actually have a Peavey T-60 hardshell case for this one.

what song is at 1:27? it sounds so familiar.
razorcloud 2 years ago
It's a little guitar run I came up with a few months ago while trying to think of a good bass line for a song I was working on.
It sounded familar to me as well - and after a bit of searching - I concluded it's closest to The Beatles' "A Day in the Life"

cool. Thanks.
me and my GF love your videos. Especially the one with the little red jumping spider. It made us sad at the end when he was climbing back to you :(

Thanks! I think the case I have for this thing is actually a T-60 case (it's a bit too large)
And yes - it is in nice condition - 100% original as far as I can tell!
